Transcription API pricing, per minute, with the arithmetic shown

What an hour costs, what a thousand hours costs, and which line items other vendors add that we do not.

Short answer

$0.0048 per minute on the $24 pack (5,000 minutes). $0.29 per audio hour. $288 for a thousand hours. Credits are bought once and do not expire, so an idle month costs nothing.

The whole price

One rate covers transcription, word timestamps, the speaker-attributed summary and quotes, and every export format. There is no per-format charge, no per-seat charge, and no monthly floor. A job that produces txt, srt and vtt is billed once.

Why subscriptions cost more than they look

Competing tools sell $25–$65 a month against a minute cap that resets. Two things follow: a quiet month is a full charge, and a heavy month needs an upgrade you keep paying for afterwards. Per-minute billing tracks the work.

Sizing a real pipeline

A weekly 45-minute podcast is about $1.56 a month. Two hundred half-hour sales calls is about $48 a month. A thousand-hour archive is a one-off $480 you can spread over as long as you like, because the credits do not expire.

What we do not charge for

Storage of your transcripts, re-downloading them in another format, or an API key. Every recording in the web app gets a free preview, so the arithmetic can be checked before anything is bought.

Why run it here

No subscription to size wrongCompeting transcription tools sell $25–$65 monthly plans with a minute cap that resets whether you used it or not. Credits here are bought once and do not expire, so a quiet month costs nothing and a backlog run does not need an upgrade.
Your audio is not sent to a third-party modelTranscription runs on our own servers in our own private cloud. Nothing is forwarded to OpenAI or any other vendor's API, which is usually the blocking question when the recordings are customer calls or unreleased material.
One job, every formattxt, json, srt, vtt and docx all come from the same job id. Re-submitting a file per format is the most common way teams pay several times for one transcription.
Built to be retriedIdempotency-Key means an automation platform's automatic retry returns the original job instead of billing a second one. Every no-code platform retries; most transcription APIs charge you for it.

In the web app the opening minutes are a free preview, and a pack from $4 (500 minutes) transcribes the rest — that is how to check accuracy on your own audio before writing any code. The API has no recurring free tier: without a key you can run 3 sample transcriptions a day, each returning a preview, and keys come with the 5,000-minute pack ($24) or Workspace ($19/month). $24 per 5,000 minutes — about $0.29 an audio hour — and credits never expire.
