Which recorders saved DVF
A generation of Sony IC recorders sold from around the mid-2000s recorded in DVF, a compact Sony format, before later models moved to MP3. They were bought for committee meetings, lectures, sermons, family interviews and dictation, and their files tend to live in folders copied off the recorder over USB.

Sony's computer software for these recorders, Digital Voice Editor or Sound Organizer depending on the model, opens DVF and can export MP3 or WAV.
