CapCut export · usually MP4 · up to 10 h or 5 GB

Transcribe long CapCut footage before you cut it into clips.

Export the full-length raw recording from CapCut, or only its audio, and upload it here to read every line with a timestamp before you start clipping. A 5-hour recording comes back in about 10 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the 300 minutes with 200 left.

Read it, then cut it

Short clips start with long footage. Read the whole thing first, then decide what to cut.

Export the full length

Put the whole raw recording on the timeline, untrimmed, and export it; CapCut usually writes an MP4. The desktop export panel can also write the audio as its own file in many versions, so check the export settings for an audio option.

Size, worked out

A 1080p export at 6 Mbps is 6 times 3,600 seconds divided by 8, which is 2.7 GB per hour, so 5 hours would be 13.5 GB. An AAC or MP3 audio file at 128 kbps is about 58 MB an hour, which puts the same 5 hours near 290 MB.

Find the moments by text

Search the transcript for the line you remember, note its timestamp, and go back to CapCut to make the cut yourself. The chapters show where each topic starts, and the key quotes pull out the lines people tend to repeat. Speakers are named in the key quotes and chapters, which helps when a guest joins halfway.

A month of raw sessions

Nine raw sessions of 3 hours are 1,620 minutes, which sits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 380 to spare. One 5-hour session fits the $6 pack. Credits never expire, so the rest waits for next month.

Clipping without a transcript

Five hours of raw footage and one afternoon to find the ten best minutes.

✗ Scrubbing for moments

  • Full length or audio only
  • Ten minutes or so for 5 hours of footage
  • Search for any line said
  • Chapters per topic

01:47:30 The first version failed because we ordered the wrong wood. That mistake cost us three weeks.
03:02:44 If you only take one thing from today, measure twice before you buy anything.

FAQ

Long CapCut footage: the questions.

How long does a 5-hour CapCut export take?

About 10 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes for each hour of audio. The proof page lists a 4.94-hour file done in 372 seconds.

What does a month of raw sessions cost?

New visitors get the first 20 minutes of their footage free. Nine 3-hour sessions (1,620 minutes) fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes; one 5-hour session fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes.

My CapCut export is bigger than 5 GB; do I need to cut it?

Export the audio only, or a lower resolution, rather than cutting. Each file can be 10 hours or 5 GB; without a pack the ceiling is 2 GB, and a heavier export begins once a pack is on the account. Above 10 hours, export two halves.

Does WhipScribe make the clips for me?

No. It returns the transcript, chapters, quotes and timestamps, and you make the cuts in CapCut. There is no integration with CapCut; if the full video is already on YouTube, paste the link instead.

Can the footage be in Portuguese, Spanish or Korean?

Yes, and in any of 99 languages, detected automatically. A recording that moves between two languages is read on its main one.

What comes back, and is my footage used for anything else?

The footage text downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Footage is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training.
