Transcribe long SOOP (AfreecaTV) VODs Korean broadcasts of 4 to 8 hours.
A SOOP (AfreecaTV) VOD transcribes from the file you download and upload here, with Korean detected automatically, and an 8-hour broadcast comes back in about 16 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers one 8-hour VOD (480 minutes) with 20 minutes left.
From the VOD to Korean text
An all-day broadcast becomes something you can search in minutes.
Download, then upload
Download the VOD of your own broadcast, or the copy your capture software saved, and upload it here. It is usually an MP4; check what your export settings produced. If the upload refuses the VOD, convert it to MP3 first. Many broadcasters also keep a local copy from OBS, which works just as well.
The size problem with 8 hours
At 6 Mbps, one hour of video is about 2.7 GB (6,000,000 bits × 3,600 seconds ÷ 8), so an 8-hour VOD is far past the 5 GB file limit. Save the audio as a 128 kbps MP3, about 57.6 MB an hour, and the same 8 hours is roughly 460 MB.
The 6-hour rule
A stream recording over 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account. An 8-hour VOD is 480 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. Two of them are 960 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000.

FAQ
SOOP (AfreecaTV) VODs, the common questions.
How long does an 8-hour VOD take?
About 16 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. The proof page shows a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds.
What does it cost?
On a first visit, the first 20 minutes are free. An 8-hour VOD uses 480 minutes of the $6 pack of 500. Two 8-hour VODs are 960 minutes on the $12 pack. A month of daily 5-hour broadcasts, about 9,000 minutes, needs more than one $24 pack. Prices are in USD.
Why did my long VOD not start right away?
Stream recordings over 6 hours start once a pack is on the account, and before a pack, uploads go up to 2 GB. Add a pack and the VOD starts.
My broadcast ran longer than 10 hours. What then?
Split it into two files of up to 10 hours each and upload both. Each file can be up to 5 GB, so send the audio as MP3.
Is Korean detected automatically?
Yes. The language is detected from 99 with nothing to set, and a broadcast that switches between Korean and English is detected on its main language with the switches handled.
What comes back, and is the VOD kept?
The VOD exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. VODs are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. There is no SOOP integration; it works on the file you upload, and you should send only broadcasts you have the right to use.
