Transcribe isiZulu SGB and parent meetings.
A school governing body or parents' meeting held in isiZulu, typically two to three hours on a phone placed on the table, is transcribed in about 4 to 6 minutes. isiZulu is detected automatically, the first 20 minutes are free, and a three-hour meeting uses 180 of the 500 minutes on a $6 pack.
For the volunteer taking minutes
The secretary should be able to listen in the meeting, not write every word down.
Minutes the next morning
A three-hour evening meeting is text in about 6 minutes. The secretary drafts the minutes from the transcript instead of from a page of rushed notes.
Parents speak as they speak
isiZulu is detected from the audio. When the principal reads a report in English and a parent responds in isiZulu, the meeting is transcribed on its main language and the switches are handled.
Agenda items, found again
Fees, the school's fundraising day, maintenance, discipline: chapters with timestamps mark each part. A phone voice memo of the whole evening goes through upload page.
Decisions written down
The brief lists the amounts, dates and decisions mentioned, and the questions the meeting settled. Ask the chat when the fundraising date was agreed and it returns the minute.
Why SGB minutes are a burden
A volunteer secretary, a long evening, and a page of notes that misses what the parents actually said.
✗ Handwritten notes
Volunteers write minutes from memory, and disputes about what was agreed follow. A three-hour evening is too much for one person to capture by hand.
- Notes that fade after the first hour
- Arguments over what was decided
- Recordings nobody replays
- English-only tools for an isiZulu meeting
- Recorder apps capped at an hour
- A subscription for a meeting a month
✓ A full text of the evening
Each meeting becomes a document the secretary can draft from.
- A three-hour SGB evening in about 6 minutes
- isiZulu detected automatically
- Chapters per agenda item
- Amounts and dates listed
- A DOCX draft for the secretary
- Twelve SGB evenings on one $12 pack
Sample
An SGB meeting, as the text comes back.
These lines are illustrative and written for this page; they do not come from a real school or meeting. In English: the chair opens, a fundraising plan, a parent's question about the fence, and a proposal to vote.

FAQ
SGB meeting recordings, answered.
How quickly is a three-hour meeting ready?
About 6 minutes, and a two-hour meeting about 4. The text is saved in your Library, so you can close the browser and come back to it.
What does a full year of SGB meetings cost?
Twelve monthly meetings of 2.5 hours are 30 hours, or 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers with 200 minutes for the annual parents' meeting. One three-hour meeting uses 180 minutes of the $6 pack. A school that records every week can look at the $19/month Workspace instead.
The phone recording runs three hours. Will it upload?
A phone voice memo of three hours is usually well under 2 GB, the upload limit before your first pack. Any single file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Should the upload refuse the file, convert it to MP3 and try again.
Should the meeting be split into agenda items before uploading?
No. Upload the whole evening as one file; chapters and timestamps divide it for you.
Does it work when the meeting is in isiZulu and the reports are in English?
Yes. The meeting is detected on its main language and the switches between isiZulu and English are handled. Before the minutes are adopted, the secretary should check names and amounts against the recording.
What files come back, and who has access to the recording?
DOCX and TXT for minutes, SRT and VTT if a video is posted, JSON for systems. School meeting recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and the governing body can delete them once the minutes are adopted.
