Transcribe 1 hour of audio while you make a coffee.
You have one hour of audio and want it as text. Drop the file below: an hour usually comes back in about 2 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free so you can read how it starts, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes transcribes the remaining 40 with plenty to spare.
What an hour looks like here
Sixty minutes of speech, turned into something you can use the same morning.
Two minutes, roughly
Processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a single hour is usually ready before you have found the next task. A file that is mostly silence or very noisy can take a little longer, and you can close the tab while it runs.
Read the start before you pay
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free. For an hour-long file that is a third of the recording, enough to judge how names, accents and crosstalk came out before you decide anything.
What the remaining 40 minutes cost
A $6 pack holds 500 minutes. Finishing your hour uses a small slice of it, so at least 440 minutes stay on the account for the next interview, lecture or call. The minutes never expire, and there is no monthly plan to cancel.
More than a wall of text
An hour of talk is around nine thousand words. It comes back with a brief that states the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and a chat that answers questions about the recording.
Why one hour is awkward elsewhere
An hour sits right where free tiers run out.
✗ Tools sized for short clips
Many services stop at 30 or 40 minutes on the free tier, or ask for a monthly plan before they touch a full hour.
- A free tier that ends at minute 30
- A monthly plan for one file
- Typing it yourself: four to six hours
- Copying text out of a captions panel
- No timestamps to check a quote
- A plain transcript with nothing pulled out
✓ One hour, one upload
You send the file once and the whole hour comes back as one document with one clock.
- About 2 minutes for the hour
- First 20 minutes free
- $6 for 500 minutes, credits never expire
- Speakers named in the summary and quotes
- Chapters you can jump between
- Five export formats from the same run

FAQ
One hour of audio, the common questions.
How long does it take to transcribe 1 hour of audio?
Usually about 2 minutes. Speed is roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, and a one-hour file is short by our standards. If you leave the page, the transcript waits in your Library.
Is a 1-hour recording free?
Partly. A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free, so a recording of 20 minutes or less is transcribed in full at no cost. For an hour-long file you see the first 20 minutes, and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview ended.
What does one hour cost on a pack?
One hour is 60 minutes, and the $6 pack holds 500. After this file you keep at least 440 minutes, which is a little over seven more hours. That works out to $0.72 per audio hour, with no subscription.
What size is a 1-hour audio file, and will it upload?
An hour of MP3 at normal quality is about 60 MB, an M4A from a phone is often smaller, and an hour of WAV is roughly 600 MB. All of those are well under the 2 GB that uploads before a pack and the 5 GB ceiling after one.
Which languages work for an hour of audio?
99 languages, detected automatically, so you do not pick one before uploading. A recording that switches language partway through is transcribed as spoken.
Which formats can I download, and who sees the recording?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON all come from the same run. Nothing leaves our side: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the file and its transcript at any time.
