What WhipScribe is
WhipScribe turns recordings into transcripts: upload a file or paste a link to your own cloud storage or a public podcast feed, and get back text with speaker labels and word-level timestamps, plus an overview with chapters and the questions the recording answers. It is built for people with volume: interview series, lecture archives, podcast back catalogues, meetings, case files.
In the last 30 days the service transcribed 1,394 recordings, 562 hours of audio, in 56 detected languages. Pricing is one-time packs from $8 for 1,000 minutes or a flat monthly plan; the first transcript is free at any length and the second costs $0.99. Who runs it
WhipScribe is built and operated by a small team; the company is registered in India and serves customers worldwide in US dollars. Transcription runs on GPU servers we operate ourselves, not on a reseller's API, which is why the turnaround and price are what they are. The optional overview, chapters and questions are produced with a language-model API; the recording itself never leaves our servers for that step, only the transcript text does, and we do not train models on anything you send.
We keep a public evidence log for every comparative claim the site makes, and a page on how we test that explains every number you will see here. When a number cannot be measured, we do not print it. What we do measure, we publish: what people transcribe, the hallucination study and the benchmark on public test sets.
What we will not do
- We do not fetch recordings from video or social platforms. You bring your own file, or a link to your own Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box, or a public podcast feed.
- We do not resell your audio, publish it, or aggregate it into a library. Transcripts belong to the account that made them and are deleted with it.
- We do not fabricate reviews, ratings or testimonials. Where the site quotes a competitor's price or feature, the evidence log shows the source and the date it was checked.
