Can you transcribe this audio?

Yes. WhipScribe transcribes audio and video, one file up to 5 GB and up to 12 hours, in 99 languages detected automatically. Upload the file, paste a public link, or record in the browser. Processing usually takes about two minutes of wall clock per hour of audio. The first transcript is free at any length.

Three ways to hand over the audio

Upload the file directly. Paste a link to any public audio or video. Or record in the browser and transcribe what you just said.

If the recording already lives in Google Drive, import it from there. You can import a whole folder at once rather than one file at a time.

What comes back

The transcript itself, in the language the recording is in — no language has to be chosen, it is detected. Alongside it: an overview, the takeaways, chapters, and key quotes, each quote carrying the timestamp it sits at.

Export the text as TXT, SRT, VTT, DOCX or JSON. Every transcript stays in a Library you can search.

The limits, stated plainly

One file, up to 5 GB, up to 12 hours. Longer recordings are split before processing and you do not split anything yourself.

Processing is not live. WhipScribe works on a recording you already have, not on audio as it happens.

What it costs

The first transcript is free, at any length, with no card and no account needed to start. The second is $0.99, once per email address.

After that, minute packs are one-time and there is no subscription: $8 / 1,000 minutes, $12 / 2,000 minutes, $24 / 5,000 minutes. Minutes do not expire. Workspace is $19/month for unlimited transcription on the web app.

Do I need an account first?

No. The first transcript is free at any length, with no card and no account needed to start. You can create one later to keep everything in one searchable Library.

Does the transcript say who is speaking?

No. WhipScribe does not label speakers or separate who said what. What you get is the spoken words as one transcript. If your work depends on attributing every line to a named person, that is not something WhipScribe does today.

Which languages are covered?

99 languages, detected automatically. You do not pick one before uploading. A recording that switches language mid-way is still handled as one file.

How long does it take?

Usually about two minutes of wall clock per hour of audio. That is a measured average across real files, not a guarantee — a long or difficult recording can take longer.

Is my recording used to train AI?

No. Transcripts are never used to train AI.

Can I transcribe audio as it is being recorded?

No. There is no real-time or live transcription. You record first, then transcribe the file. You can make the recording in the browser and transcribe it immediately afterwards.
