Answer

How do I transcribe a 3-hour podcast episode?

Upload the episode file or paste its podcast, RSS or YouTube link into WhipScribe. A 3-hour episode goes in as one file and takes about 6 minutes to process (about 2 minutes per hour of audio). It uses 180 minutes, so the $4 pack (500 minutes) covers it with minutes to spare. The summary is free to read.

One file, no splitting

You do not cut the episode into parts. Upload the whole file, up to 5 GB, or paste a link to where it is published.

The language is detected automatically from 99+ languages.

What comes back

A timestamped transcript, plus a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and a chat over the transcript.

Export as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON for show notes, captions or a blog post.

What it costs

180 minutes fits inside the $4 pack (500 minutes). Larger packs are $8 / 1,000 minutes, $12 / 2,000 and $24 / 5,000. Credits never expire, so leftover minutes carry to the next episode.

How to do it

  1. Upload the episode, or paste its podcast, RSS or YouTube link.
  2. Wait about 6 minutes for a 3-hour episode.
  3. Read the free summary, then open the full transcript with a pack.
  4. Export as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
