Answer

How do I transcribe audio in a language other than English?

Upload the recording to WhipScribe or paste a public link. The language is detected automatically out of about 99, and the transcript comes back in the language that was spoken, timestamped. Smaller languages need a review pass. The summary is free to read; a pack from $4 (500 minutes) opens the full transcript.

No language to choose

WhipScribe listens to the audio and recognises the language itself. Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Indonesian, Japanese and dozens more are handled the same way as English.

A recording that switches language part-way is still one file; you do not cut it up.

How accurate it is per language

Accuracy follows how much speech a language has behind it. Major languages come out close to English quality. Smaller ones, such as Cebuano, give a good first draft that needs reading through. Each language page says which group a language is in.

What it costs

The price is the same for every language. The summary of any recording is free to read; the full transcript opens with a minute pack: $4 / 500 minutes, $8 / 1,000 minutes, $12 / 2,000 minutes or $24 / 5,000 minutes, one-time. Credits never expire.

How to do it

  1. Open WhipScribe and drop the audio or video file onto the upload box, or paste a public link.
  2. Wait while it processes; about two minutes per hour of audio is typical.
  3. Read the summary, then open the full transcript with a pack.
  4. Export as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
