Dereverberation

Dereverberation removes room echo from recordings, estimating and subtracting the reflected sound to bring the direct voice forward.

It is the hardest common restoration task — reverb overlaps the voice in time and frequency — and results range from transformative to artifact-prone. Close miking remains the reliable answer.
