Mixing
Mixing combines multiple recorded tracks into one balanced whole — setting levels, EQ, compression and effects per track so voices, music and effects work together.
A podcast mix is voices leveled consistently, music beds ducked under speech, and transitions smoothed. Mixing decisions are reversible while tracks stay separate — the argument for keeping multitrack sessions archived.
