Transcription for HR investigators every interview, as text to compare.
An HR investigator who records a 90-minute interview gets working text back in about 3 minutes, with the dates, names and events mentioned listed. A typical investigation with 7 hours of interviews is 420 minutes, which fits the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes, and the opening minutes are a free preview.
Interviews in a workplace investigation
Long interviews that have to be compared, quoted and written up fairly.
Complainant, respondent, witnesses
An investigation usually means a long interview with each party and shorter ones with witnesses, recorded on a recorder, a laptop or a video call saved to the cloud. Each interview goes in as its own file, so every account has its own text, chapters and brief.
Accounts side by side
The chapters follow the order in which each allegation was discussed, and the list of dates and names lets you see where two accounts agree and where they diverge. The chat finds the moment a particular meeting or message was described, with its timestamp.
From recording to report
Quotes in the findings come from the transcript, and the timestamp beside each passage takes you back to the audio to confirm the exact words. Files up to 500 MB go into the box on this page; a larger video file continues on the main upload page.
An investigation, priced
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. Four investigations of about 8 hours each in a quarter total 1,920 minutes, which fits the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes.
Where investigation time goes
The interviews take a day; writing them up takes the rest of the week.
✗ Notes and replays
Investigators take notes while listening, then replay the recording to fill gaps and to get a quote right.

- Replaying an hour to find one sentence
- Accounts compared from memory
- Quotes retyped for the report
- Delays between interview and write-up
- Recordings sitting unreviewed

FAQ
Investigators ask these first.
Do interviewees need to know the interview is recorded and transcribed?
Tell every interviewee that the interview is being recorded and how the recording will be handled, and get their agreement before you start, in line with your organisation's policy and the consent the law where you are requires. That caution matters more than any tool choice.
Can the transcript be quoted directly in the findings?
Use it as working text. Before a quote goes into a report, play the passage at its timestamp and confirm the wording, especially where people spoke over each other. It is not a certified record and not legal advice.
How long does each interview take?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 2-hour respondent interview is ready in about 4 minutes and a 45-minute witness in under 2.
What does a larger investigation cost?
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes. Credits never expire, so minutes left over carry to the next case.
Is the recording kept confidential?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Who in your organisation sees the transcript is your decision; keep it with the rest of the investigation file.
One interview was conducted partly in another language. Will that work?
WhipScribe detects 99 languages automatically. A recording that switches language is detected on its main language, so review the passages in the other language against the audio.
