Weekly 2 to 3 h episodes · back catalogues · prices in USD

Transcription for podcast producers weekly long episodes and the whole back catalogue.

A 2.5-hour podcast episode comes back as text in about 5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. The first 20 minutes are free; a weekly show of four 150-minute episodes uses 600 minutes a month, so the $12 pack of 2,000 covers three months.

What a producer handles

This week's long conversation, and two hundred episodes nobody ever transcribed.

From the feed, not the hard drive

A public RSS feed or a YouTube episode can be pasted as a link, so a published episode needs no upload. Private or premium feeds, and raw multitrack sessions, are exported or downloaded first; a mixed file up to 500 MB fits the box above, and anything larger continues on upload page.

Show notes from the chapters

Each episode returns a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps that drop into show notes, the names, numbers and dates said, and the questions the episode answers. Hosts and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Intro music and stings are skipped; read ads are speech and are transcribed.

Weekly, priced

Four episodes of 150 minutes are 600 minutes a month. The $12 pack of 2,000 covers three months, 1,800 minutes, with 200 left. A three-hour weekly show uses about 720 minutes a month, so the $24 pack of 5,000 lasts roughly seven months. Credits never expire.

The archive, priced

Two hundred back episodes averaging two hours are 24,000 minutes: about five packs of 5,000 minutes at $24 each, $120 for the whole catalogue. The caution for producers: names of guests, places and in-jokes are where errors cluster, so check them before publishing a transcript.

Why the back catalogue never gets transcribed

Transcripts help search and accessibility. Nobody budgets for 400 hours of them.

✗ Episode by episode, by hand

Producers caption the new episode when they can and leave the archive untouched.

  • Show notes written from memory
  • Long episodes cut off by upload limits
  • Per-minute pricing that rules out the archive
  • Transcripts that include the intro music as gibberish
  • No chapters for listeners to skip to
  • A subscription to cover a busy month

✓ Every episode as text

Paste the feed or upload the files and the whole show comes back searchable.

  • About 5 minutes for a 2.5-hour episode
  • Chapters ready for show notes
  • Guests named in the summary
  • SRT and VTT for the video edit
  • A 200-episode archive for about $120
  • Credits that never expire

Sample

Part of a long podcast episode, as text.

Illustrative only: written for this page, not taken from any show. Gaps in the timestamps are music or a break.

FAQ

Transcription for podcast producers, answered.

How quickly does an episode come back?

Processing runs at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A two-hour episode is ready in around 4 minutes and a three-hour one in about 6.

Can I paste the feed instead of uploading?

Yes. A public podcast RSS feed, a YouTube or Vimeo episode, and a Google Drive file or folder link all work as links. A private feed or a file on another host is downloaded first and uploaded.

What does one episode cost?

New accounts get the first 20 minutes free. The rest of a 2.5-hour episode, 130 minutes, comes from a $6 pack of 500, which leaves 370 for the next two episodes.

Our video podcast files are huge.

The ceiling per file is 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB start at once and a larger file starts after a pack is on the account. Exporting the audio track alone makes the file far smaller and transcribes the same.

We run a team with several producers.

Packs are enough for most shows. A $19 a month Workspace exists for a team that records every week; credit packs stay one-time either way.

Is our unreleased audio safe?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Each episode exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON.
