Transcribe a 3-hour interview and find the quote at 2:14:07 in seconds.
A 3-hour interview is 180 minutes of conversation and comes back as timestamped text in about 6 minutes; as an audio file from a phone, a recorder or a call it is usually 100 to 250 MB, well under the 5 GB a file can be. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
For long-form conversations
Three hours is where the good material hides. You should not have to scrub the timeline to find it.
Every way an interview arrives
A journalist's recorder, a phone memo, a Zoom call, a podcast already published on RSS, a video interview on YouTube or Vimeo, or a file a producer left in Google Drive. Upload the file or paste the link; a published episode or video needs no download at all.
Chapters you can navigate
Long interviews wander: childhood, the career, the controversy, the tangent about a dog, then back to the point. Timestamped chapters mark each turn, and the brief sets out the thesis and the takeaways, so the structure of a three-hour talk is visible on one screen.
Quotes with their minute
The brief pulls key quotes and the names, numbers and dates that were said, each with a timestamp. The interviewer and the guest are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which is the part a writer or an editor reaches for first.
One file, one clock
Three hours goes up whole. One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so there is no reason to cut the conversation into halves that each restart at zero; a large camera file goes through upload page.
Why long interviews get shelved
Most three-hour interviews are used for one quote because nobody has time to read the rest.
✗ Scrubbing the timeline
Without text, finding a remark means listening again, and the interview is mined for the one moment someone remembers.
- Hours of relistening for one quote
- Upload caps of a few megabytes elsewhere
- Halves that each restart at zero
- Names and figures copied by ear
- Timestamps noted by hand
- The rest of the conversation never used
✓ Reading the whole conversation
The interview comes back as searchable text with structure, quotes and timestamps the same hour.
- About 6 minutes for 180 minutes
- a free preview of the opening minutes to check the voices
- Chapters for each subject
- Names and numbers listed in the brief
- Chat over the full transcript
- TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON

FAQ
Three-hour interviews: what people ask before uploading.
How long does it take to transcribe a 3-hour interview?
About 6 minutes from the moment the file is in, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A link takes a little longer because the recording is fetched first.
How much does a 3-hour interview cost?
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. Four three-hour interviews a month are 720 minutes and fit the $18 pack of 3,000; a book project of 20 such interviews, 3,600 minutes, fits the $32 pack of 6,000.
The interview was filmed on two cameras. Which file do I send?
Send the file with the clearest audio, usually the one fed by the lapel mics. A 1080p camera file of three hours can be several gigabytes; up to 5 GB uploads with or without a pack, or export the audio track at around 170 MB.
We recorded each person on a separate track. Should I upload both?
Upload the mixed track if you have one, so the whole conversation sits in one transcript on one clock. Separate tracks each become their own transcript, which is harder to read as a dialogue.
Does it handle accents and a guest who switches language?
99 languages are detected automatically, and a conversation that changes language is detected on its main language, so check the passages in the second language. Strong accents come through well when the microphone was close.
Who can hear my interview?
Recordings are processed on our own servers and never used to train any model. You can delete the recording and its transcript at any time, which matters when a source spoke on conditions.
