300 minutes · about 10 min · VOD links work

Transcribe a 5-hour livestream from the VOD, not a download.

A 5-hour livestream is 300 minutes, and pasting its Twitch, Kick or YouTube VOD link returns the talk as text in about 10 minutes; the video file itself would be somewhere around 8 to 14 GB at 1080p. One stream uses 300 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, and your first 20 minutes cost nothing.

Five hours live

Everything you said across a long stream, findable by the minute.

No 12 GB download

At 1080p and a typical streaming bitrate, five hours of video weighs about as much as a couple of feature films. Skip it: copy the VOD link from Twitch or Kick, or the replay link from YouTube, and we pull the audio ourselves. Vimeo links work the same way.

About ten minutes

Five hours of audio runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour, so the transcript is usually ready around 10 minutes after the VOD is fetched. That is fast enough to write the title, the description and the clip list before the stream has cooled down.

Talk in, noise out

Game audio, alerts, music beds and sound effects are not transcribed; your voice and your guests' voices are. Chapters split the five hours into the just-chatting opener, each game or topic, any guest segment, and the outro, each with the timestamp to jump to in the VOD.

The streamer's arithmetic

One 5-hour stream uses 300 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack. Four of them a month is 1,200 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 800 to spare. Streaming five hours most weekdays, about 20 a month, is 6,000 minutes: the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers 16 of them.

Long streams, lost moments

The best line of the night, somewhere in hour four.

✗ The VOD as it is

It is archived, it is long, and the moment chat keeps asking about has no timestamp.

  • Scrubbing five hours for one bit
  • A huge file before any tool helps
  • Auto captions that transcribe the game
  • Clip ideas lost by the next morning
  • Tools that refuse files this long
  • Splitting the VOD into hour chunks

✓ The VOD as text

Paste the link, and the stream comes back with the moments marked by time.

  • Ten minutes for the whole VOD
  • Link in, no download
  • Segments as chapters with timestamps
  • Guests credited in the summary and quotes
  • Captions for the YouTube upload
  • Room for another 200 minutes of stream

FAQ

A 5-hour livestream, the common questions.

How long does a 5-hour livestream take?

About 10 minutes once the VOD is fetched, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. Our public run did 9.31 hours in 1,033 seconds; the details are at /proof/long-files.

What does a 5-hour stream cost?

It uses 300 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes and leaves 200. Your first 20 minutes are free, and the pack picks the stream up from where the preview ended. Credits never expire and there is no subscription.

Is there a limit on stream length?

Stream recordings over 6 hours start once a pack is on the account; a 5-hour VOD does not need one to start. If a stream runs past six hours, buy the pack first. Any single file can be up to 10 hours, so a marathon past that goes in as two parts.

Which platforms work from a link?

Twitch and Kick VODs, YouTube videos and live replays, and Vimeo. For Facebook, TikTok or Instagram live replays, download the recording first and upload it; a file up to 2 GB uploads before a pack, up to 5 GB after.

Does it catch my guests and the chat?

Voices on the stream are transcribed and the speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Chat messages are text on screen, not speech, so they are not in the transcript unless you read them out.

What can I download?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, all from one pass, with 99 languages detected automatically. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
