Transcribe a Bikol FGD recording while the fieldwork is still fresh.
A two-hour Bikol FGD is processed in about 4 minutes, with the first 20 minutes free for a first-time visitor. Bikol is supported but less accurate than English or Tagalog, so expect a fast first draft that needs one review pass by a Bikol speaker. Six sessions for an NGO report fit on a $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
What a set of FGDs gets here
Several sessions across several towns, each one readable the same day.
Each session in four minutes
A focus group in Naga, Legazpi or a coastal barangay in Albay runs about two hours. At around 2 minutes per hour of audio, the team can read the morning session before the afternoon one starts.
One upload per session
Each session goes up as its own file and comes back with its own brief and chapters. Upload them one after another, and each lands in your Library under its own name, ready for the debrief.
Arithmetic for a study
Six two-hour sessions add up to 720 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000. That leaves room for key informant interviews later, and a report delayed to next quarter loses nothing because credits never expire.
Material for the report
The brief sets out the main points raised, chapters follow the discussion guide, and the names, numbers and dates spoken are gathered in one place. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which helps when the report quotes the community.
Where FGD data gets stuck
Field data waits for transcripts.
✗ Transcribing after fieldwork
Teams come back from the field with hours of Bikol audio and one or two people who can type it.
- Weeks between fieldwork and report
- Overlapping answers replayed many times
- Quiet voices missed in the notes
- Translation started before the text exists
- No timestamps for quoted lines
- Recorder files named by date only
✓ Draft text while the field is fresh
Each session is text within minutes, so the debrief happens while the team still remembers the room.
- About 4 minutes a session
- First 20 minutes free
- $12 for six sessions with room left
- Chapters along the discussion guide
- Quotes ready for the report
- DOCX and TXT for coding

FAQ
Bikol FGD recordings, answered.
How long will each Bikol FGD take to process?
About 4 minutes for a two-hour session, since speed is roughly 2 minutes per audio hour.
What will the full set of sessions cost?
Six sessions of two hours are 720 minutes on the $12 pack; three sessions are 360 minutes and fit the $6 pack of 500. Prices are in US dollars and each pack is paid once.
We filmed the sessions. Can a video file go up?
Yes, MP4 and WEBM video upload like audio. Up to 2 GB goes in before a pack, larger files start once a pack is on the account, and any one file can be 10 hours or 5 GB.
Do I need to split a long session?
No. Anything up to 10 hours goes up as one file and keeps one timeline, so quotes keep their real time in the session. Splitting by hand also risks cutting an answer in half at the join.
Participants mixed Bikol, Tagalog and English. Is that handled?
Yes. Every stretch comes back in the language spoken, in order, and you do not choose a language before uploading. Nothing is translated.
Which exports are there, and who can hear the recording?
Exports come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON for the field report. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete a session and its transcript when your study's retention period ends.
