Transcribe council meeting recordings in Brazil from a long session to the draft of the ata.
A council meeting recorded in Brazil, such as a câmara municipal session of three to six hours, comes back here in 6 to 12 minutes, with Portuguese detected automatically. The first 20 minutes are free, a 5-hour session uses 300 minutes of a $6 pack of 500, and the brief lists the motions, votes, sums and dates that the ata needs.
From session to ata
A long civic meeting, ready to summarise the same day.
Paste the broadcast link
Many councils stream their sessions and leave the replay on YouTube. Paste that link and the session is fetched for you, with no download and no upload. A recorded file from the chamber's own system works too. upload page
The brief as a first draft
The brief states what the session was about and its takeaways, then lists the names, numbers and dates spoken: the bill numbers, the amounts, the deadlines. A clerk can start the ata from that instead of from a blank page.
Every speaker in the summary
Councillors, the presiding officer and invited speakers in the public part of the session are identified and named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters, so you can find each intervention by person.
Long sessions stay whole
A session of up to 10 hours or 5 GB goes in as one file. Processing runs at about 2 minutes per audio hour, so even a session that ran past midnight is back in under 20 minutes.
Why the ata takes days
Long sessions make the record the bottleneck.
✗ Writing from the replay
The person drafting the record replays hours of video to check one vote.
- Five-hour broadcasts with no index
- Interventions summarised from memory
- Sums and bill numbers misheard in notes
- Free tools that cap a file at minutes
- No text version for residents to search
- An ata that arrives weeks after the session
✓ The session as text
Each recording returns a structured text the clerk and the public can use.
- About 10 minutes for a 5-hour session
- Chapters that follow the order of business
- Motions, sums and dates pulled into the brief
- Councillors named in summary and quotes
- A chat to ask how a member voted on an item
- Captions for the published session video

FAQ
Council meeting recordings, answered.
How long does a long council session take?
Roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 3-hour session is back in about 6 minutes, a 6-hour one in about 12. A YouTube replay longer than 6 hours starts processing once a pack is on the account.
What does a month of sessions cost?
If the council meets weekly for about four hours, a month is 16 hours, or 960 minutes. That is beyond the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers the month with about 17 hours to spare. A single 5-hour session fits the $6 pack.
Is there a limit on the length of a session?
The ceiling per file is 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB go through; a long video from the chamber may be larger and then starts once a pack is bought. A YouTube link avoids the upload altogether.
What if a session ran longer than 10 hours?
Send it as two files, for example the morning and evening parts. Each comes back as its own transcript with its own brief. A session under 10 hours never needs splitting.
Does it work for sessions in Portuguese?
Yes. Portuguese is detected automatically, along with 98 other languages, so there is nothing to set. A session that switches language is transcribed on its main language, which for a Brazilian council will almost always be Portuguese.
Which exports are there, and who has the recording?
The council gets TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. DOCX is the easiest start for the ata, and SRT or VTT caption the published video. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
