3-6 hour sessions · Korean · minutes drafted from the brief

Transcribe council meeting recordings in South Korea minutes from the brief, not from memory.

A five-hour council meeting recorded in Korean is transcribed in about 10 minutes, and the brief lists what was decided so the minutes start from a draft. The first 20 minutes are free, the whole session fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a month of four such sessions fits the $12 pack of 2,000.

From session to minutes

Six hours of debate, motions and votes, narrowed to the part the minutes need.

A brief to draft from

The brief states what the session was about and its takeaways, and the names, numbers and dates said aloud come back in a list. A clerk drafting minutes starts from those instead of a blank page and the full recording. The draft still needs the clerk's judgement, but the shape of the meeting is already set out.

One chapter per agenda item

Council sessions move through an agenda: reports, questions to officials, motions, votes. Chapters with timestamps follow those turns, so a resident or a reporter can go straight to the item they care about.

Streamed sessions, by link

If the session was streamed to YouTube, paste the link on the upload page and no download is needed. A replay longer than 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account.

The month, in minutes

Four sessions of five hours each come to 1,200 minutes. The $12 pack of 2,000 covers them, with 800 minutes left for committee meetings, at about $0.36 per audio hour.

Why council recordings go unused

The meeting is public, but nobody has time to listen to all of it again.

✗ A recording and a deadline

Minutes are due and the only record is a long video, so drafting means replaying the session item by item.

  • Replaying hours to confirm one vote
  • Notes that missed who moved the motion
  • Budget figures copied by ear
  • Tools that stop at the first hour
  • A per-month plan for a monthly meeting
  • Residents unable to find one agenda item

✓ A session you can work from

The whole meeting comes back once, in Korean, with times that lead back to the video.

  • About 2 minutes per hour of meeting
  • The brief with decisions and takeaways
  • Speakers named in the summary and chapters
  • Figures and dates pulled into a list
  • A chat that answers questions about the session
  • DOCX ready for the minutes template

FAQ

Council meeting recordings, answered.

How long does a five-hour council meeting take to transcribe?

About 10 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A three-hour committee meeting is usually ready in around 6. You can close the page; the finished transcript is kept in your Library.

What does a year of council meetings cost?

One five-hour session is 300 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. Twelve monthly sessions of five hours come to 3,600 minutes, which fits the $24 pack of 5,000 at about $0.29 per audio hour. Prices are in US dollars; for a team that records every week there is also a $19 monthly Workspace.

Our recording is a long video. Is it too large?

One file may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Uploads before the first pack go up to 2 GB, so a larger video starts once a pack is on the account. A pasted link needs no upload at all.

Do I have to cut the session at the break?

No. A morning and an afternoon recorded as one file go up as one file, with one set of timestamps. If the two halves were saved separately, upload both; only a single recording over 10 hours needs to become two files.

How does it handle Korean with many speakers?

Korean is detected automatically and the session is transcribed on that main language. The summary and chapters name the members and officials who spoke; check the names of anyone introduced only by title. Members who talk over each other in a heated debate are worth a second listen at those timestamps.

Which exports are there, and is the recording kept private?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, all from the same run; SRT and VTT add captions to the session video. Council recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
