For people who follow the Assembly

A sitting that ran into the evening, as text you can search by name and by minute.

A link instead of a download

Plenary sittings and committee meetings are widely published as video. When the sitting is on YouTube, paste the link on the upload page; the audio is fetched on our side, including live replays. Nothing has to be saved to your own computer first, which matters when one sitting is many gigabytes of video.

Questions and answers, by chapter

A committee day is a long series of exchanges between members and officials. Chapters with timestamps follow those exchanges, and the summary names the speakers, so one member's line of questioning is easy to find.

When the replay is long

A stream replay over 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account, and one file is capped at 10 hours. A sitting that ran longer than 10 hours needs to be downloaded and sent as two files.

Arithmetic for a busy week

Three committee days of eight hours each are 1,440 minutes. The $12 pack of 2,000 covers the week with 560 minutes to spare, and the credits stay on the account for the next sitting.

Why sittings are hard to work from

The video is public; the sentence you need is somewhere in hour six.

✗ Long video, no text

Reporters, researchers and staff end up watching at double speed and writing down timecodes by hand.

  • Scrubbing a full day for one answer
  • Downloading a huge file just to upload it
  • Tools that reject anything over an hour
  • Timecodes noted by hand
  • No record of the figures officials cited
  • A subscription for a few big weeks a year

✓ The whole sitting as searchable text

The link goes in once and the whole day comes back with one clock.

  • A pasted YouTube link, including live replays
  • About 2 minutes per hour of sitting
  • Chapters for each agenda item
  • Names, figures and dates listed
  • Key quotes with timestamps
  • A chat for asking what was said about a topic

Sample

A committee exchange, as it comes back.

This sample is illustrative: written for this page and shown in English translation, it is not from any real sitting, and a Korean session returns in Korean.

FAQ

Legislative session recordings, answered.

How long does an eight-hour sitting take to transcribe?

About 16 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A shorter plenary of three hours is usually ready in about 6. Fetching a long link adds a little time at the start. You can paste the link, close the tab, and come back to the finished text.

What does following a session week cost?

One eight-hour day is 480 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. Three such days, 1,440 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000; a heavy month of committee days above that fits the $24 pack of 5,000. Prices are in US dollars, and there is no subscription.

Can I paste the stream link instead of uploading?

Yes. YouTube links work, including live replays, as do Twitch, Kick, Vimeo, Google Drive and podcast links. A replay over 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account, and a recording from a site that cannot be linked is downloaded first, then uploaded.

What if the sitting ran longer than 10 hours?

One file holds up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Download the recording and send it as two files, split at a recess if there was one; each half comes back with its own timestamps.

Does it work for Korean with officials' titles and figures?

Korean is detected automatically and the sitting is transcribed on that main language. Names, titles and numbers said aloud are pulled into a list; check any figure you plan to publish against the audio at its timestamp.

Which exports come back, and what happens to the recording?

Every format comes from one run: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Session recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the transcript when you are done.
