Transcribe a legislative session the whole sitting day.
If you want to transcribe a legislative session, paste the chamber's stream link or drop the recording below. A floor session of up to 10 hours goes in as one file, nine hours comes back in about 18 minutes, and a sitting that ran past 10 hours goes in as two files. The first 20 minutes are free.
Why floor sessions fit here
A sitting day of debate, made searchable.
Ten hours in one file
Parliament and state house sittings often run from mid-morning into the evening. Anything up to 10 hours or 5 GB goes up as one file with one timeline, so a speech at hour eight is cited by its place in the day.
Past ten hours, two files
Budget nights and end-of-session marathons can pass the ceiling. Cut the recording at a recess, which most sittings have, and upload the halves as two files; each returns as its own transcript starting from its own clock.
Follow one bill through the day
Chapters track the business of the sitting: second readings, amendments, statements and divisions. Search for the bill number or a member's name, or ask the chat what was said about the funding formula.
The stream link is enough
Most chambers stream to YouTube and keep the replay there. Paste the link and the audio is fetched for you; an archived file from the chamber's media office can go through the upload page instead.
Tracking a sitting
Ten hours of floor debate, read in ten minutes.
✗ Waiting on the official report
The official record of debates can take days to publish, and the stream has no search.
- A ten-hour stream with no index
- One member's remarks somewhere in the evening
- Amendment numbers missed while switching tabs
- Division results checked against the clock
- Clients asking what happened on their bill
- Recording too long for tools with short caps
✓ The sitting as searchable text
The session returns as a transcript on one timeline, with chapters by item of business and the bills, numbers and dates in the brief.
- Up to 10 hours in a single file
- Chapters by item of business
- Bill and amendment numbers in the brief
- Speeches quoted with their timestamps
- About 18 minutes for nine hours
- TXT and DOCX for a briefing note

FAQ
Legislative session recordings, answered.
How long does a 9-hour legislative session take?
About 18 minutes at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A six-hour sitting usually finishes in about 12. The public proof run on long files transcribed 9.31 hours in 1,033 seconds. For staff writing a same-night briefing, that means the text of the day is ready within minutes of the recording being posted.
What does transcribing a 9-hour sitting cost?
Nine hours is 540 minutes, slightly more than the $6 pack's 500, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes is the one to buy, and it leaves enough for two or three more sittings. Anyone tracking a full session of the legislature should look at the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, about 83 hours. The first 20 minutes are free for a first-time visitor.
Is there a size limit for the session video?
Each file can be up to 5 GB and 10 hours. Before your first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB, and larger files start once a pack is on the account. Pasting the YouTube stream link skips the file size question.
The sitting ran 14 hours. How do I transcribe it?
As two files, because one file holds at most 10 hours. Cut at a recess or the dinner break, for example 6 and 8 hours, and upload both. Together they are 840 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers.
Does this replace the official record of debates?
No. This is an AI transcript with timestamps for following the sitting and working from, not a certified transcript, not a substitute for a court reporter, and not legal advice. The chamber's own published record remains authoritative.
Which exports are available, and what happens to the recording?
Export TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. The audio is transcribed on our own servers, never used for training, and stays in your Library until you delete it.
