Transcribe court or tribunal hearing recordings in Australia, a full day at a time.
If you hold the recording of a court, tribunal or inquiry hearing in Australia, a 6-hour hearing day comes back as text in about 12 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free. One day fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes; it is an AI transcript with timestamps for working from, not a certified transcript, not a substitute for a court reporter, and not legal advice.
For preparing, not for filing
A full sitting day, turned into text you can prepare submissions and notes from.
Where recordings come from
Royal commission and inquiry hearings are often streamed and later posted as video; paste that link. Recordings of your own matter, held lawfully, can be uploaded as a file. Court and tribunal rules on who may obtain or use a recording differ, so check them first.
Who answered what
The summary, key quotes and chapters name the presiding member, counsel and each witness, with the minute of every answer. Cross-examination is easier to work through when you can go straight to the point a figure or date was given.
Days, weeks, an inquiry
A 6-hour day is 360 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. A five-day hearing of about 30 hours is 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000. A multi-week inquiry moves to the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, about 83 hours.
Long sittings in one file
One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a long sitting day needs no cutting. Before the first pack, uploads can be up to 2 GB; posted hearing videos can be pasted as a link instead, with no upload at all.
Where hearing recordings slow you down
The answer you need is somewhere in six hours of evidence.
✗ Waiting or replaying
An official transcript can take time to arrive, and in the meantime the only way into the evidence is to replay it. Preparing for the next sitting day from memory and partial notes leaves gaps that matter.
- Hours of audio to scrub through
- Handwritten notes from the gallery
- No record of who asked which question
- Witness answers paraphrased from memory
- Tools that stop after an hour
- Nothing searchable before the next sitting
✓ A working transcript
A full day comes back as one searchable document with timestamps. Every passage you rely on can be checked against the recording before it goes anywhere near a submission.
- About 12 minutes for a 6-hour day
- Member, counsel and witnesses named in the summary
- Chapters by witness and topic
- Dates, amounts and names pulled out
- Chat to locate a line of questioning
- DOCX to annotate for preparation

FAQ
Australian hearing recordings, the common questions.
How long does a day-long hearing take to transcribe?
About 12 minutes for 6 hours, since speed runs near 2 minutes per audio hour. A short directions hearing of under an hour takes about 2 minutes.
What does a hearing cost?
A 6-hour day is 360 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. A week of sittings fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and a longer inquiry the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Prices are in US dollars; your card converts them at checkout.
Is this a certified or official transcript?
No. Use it to prepare and to find passages, then rely on the official record for anything filed or cited. Speakers named in the summary should be checked against the recording when a quote matters.
The hearing ran over two days. One file or two?
Two, one per sitting day. Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB and returns with its own clock, matching its own recording.
What if a witness speaks through an interpreter?
99 languages are detected automatically. A witness giving evidence through an interpreter is transcribed as spoken, in both languages, when the recording switches between them.
Is the recording kept private, and what can I export?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a hearing and its transcript whenever you choose. Exports come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON; DOCX is the one most people annotate.
