Transcribe court and tribunal hearings recorded in Canada, a whole day at a time.
You have the recording of a Canadian court or tribunal hearing and need to read it, not replay it. A hearing day of up to 10 hours goes in as one file, 6 hours comes back in about 12 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free. The result is a timestamped working transcript for preparation, not a certified one.
What a hearing day becomes
Testimony you can search, quote and check against the audio by the clock.
One sitting, one timeline
A tribunal day that starts at nine and adjourns late in the afternoon is usually six or seven hours of audio. That fits inside the 10-hour ceiling, so the morning and afternoon share a single clock and a quote from 15:42 means the same thing in every copy you hand around.
The arithmetic for a 6-hour day
Six hours is 360 minutes. The $6 pack of 500 minutes covers it and leaves 140 minutes for a shorter motion or an examination for discovery later in the week. Minutes on the account never expire, so a file that pauses for months does not waste them.
Who spoke, in the summary
The brief and chapters name the presiding member, counsel and each witness as they appear, so you can see where cross-examination began without scrubbing. The transcript lines carry timestamps, which is how you check any attribution against the recording before relying on it.
A working copy, stated plainly

Where hearing audio stalls
A long hearing defeats tools built for half-hour calls.
✗ Short-clip tools and manual notes
Most consumer transcription is sized for meetings, so a full sitting has to be cut, renamed and stitched back together.
- Uploads that refuse anything past an hour or two
- Four or five pieces, each restarting at 00:00
- Typing a day of testimony by hand: a week of evenings
- Notes that missed the exact wording of an answer
- No way to search for an exhibit number
- Nothing that marks where each witness started
✓ The hearing as it was recorded
Send the day once and read it as one document, with chapters that follow the order of the proceeding.
- Up to 10 hours and 5 GB per file
- About 2 minutes per hour of audio
- Names, dates and figures pulled into the brief
- Chapters at each witness and each break
- A chat that finds the answer about the lease date
- TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON from one run

FAQ
Hearing recordings in Canada, the practical questions.
How long does a full hearing day take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 6-hour day is ready in roughly 12 minutes and a 9-hour day in about 18. The public long-file proof shows 9.31 hours finishing in 1,033 seconds. You can leave the page and pick the result up from your Library.
What does a two-day hearing cost?
Two days of 6 hours each come to 720 minutes, which is more than the $6 pack holds, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes is the right one and leaves room for about 21 more hours. Prices are in US dollars. A first-time visitor sees the first 20 minutes free before buying anything.
Can I transcribe an examination for discovery the same way?
Yes. An examination for discovery is recorded audio like any other, and a 4-hour examination comes back in about 8 minutes. As with a hearing, the result is a working transcript for preparation, not the official transcript of the examination.
The hearing video is large. Will it upload?
A hearing file may run to 10 hours and weigh up to 5 GB. Before your first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB, and a bigger file starts once a pack is on the account. Exporting only the audio track from a video makes the file far smaller and changes nothing in the transcript.
Part of the hearing was in French. What happens?
Each recording is detected on its main language among 99. When a hearing moves between English and French, the passages in the second language deserve a careful read against the audio. If the recording has separate language channels, transcribe the channel you need.
Is this a certified transcript, and who sees the recording?
It is not certified, it is not a substitute for a court reporter, and nothing here is legal advice. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Export TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, and delete the file whenever you like.
