Transcribe court and tribunal hearings recorded in South Africa.
A day-long court or tribunal hearing recorded in South Africa can go in as one file of up to 10 hours, and a six-hour day comes back in about 12 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers a full hearing day as a timestamped text you work from.
For preparing, not for filing
Read the day's evidence the same evening, with the minute of every answer.
A hearing day in minutes
Six hours of proceedings come back in about 12 minutes, so the day's testimony is text before the evening's preparation starts. Long video recordings go through upload page.
The day on one clock
A hearing day stays one file from the opening of proceedings to the adjournment. A timestamp in your notes points to the same moment in the recording when you go back to listen.
What a working transcript is
This is an AI transcript with timestamps for working from. It is not a certified court transcript, not a substitute for a court reporter, and not legal advice.
Names, figures and dates pulled out
The brief lists the names, amounts and dates said during the day, and the key quotes name the speaker. That is the list you check first when you prepare questions for the next sitting.
The gap between hearing days
Waiting on a typed record slows every step after the hearing.
✗ Notes and memory
Without a text, preparation runs on handwritten notes and whatever someone remembers of a long day.
- Handwritten notes with gaps
- Hours of audio to scrub through
- A recording too long for most apps
- No way to search for a name
- Quotes you cannot place in time
- Days before any typed text
✓ A searchable working text
The recording becomes text you can search, quote by minute and check against the audio.
- Roughly 12 minutes for a 6-hour day
- One file per hearing day
- Timestamps on every passage
- Names, figures and dates listed
- Key quotes with the speaker named
- DOCX for case notes

FAQ
Hearing recordings, answered.
How long does a full hearing day take to transcribe?
About 12 minutes for six hours, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A short three-hour sitting is usually ready in about 6. The text waits in your Library if you close the tab.
What does a week-long hearing cost?
Five days of six hours each are 30 hours, or 1,800 minutes, which fits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single hearing day of up to eight hours is under 500 minutes and fits on the $6 pack. Everything is priced in US dollars, and nothing renews. A first-time visitor can read the opening 20 minutes of a hearing before buying anything.
Is this an official or certified record?
No. It is a working transcript with timestamps for reading, searching and preparing. The official record of the court or tribunal remains the one to cite or file.
The hearing video is over 2 GB. Can I still upload it?
Yes, once a pack is on the account; before the first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB. The limit for one file is 5 GB or 10 hours. Extracting the audio track makes the file much smaller and transcribes the same way.
Which languages are recognised in a hearing?
The model detects English, Afrikaans and Zulu automatically, among 99 languages. A hearing that moves between languages is detected on its main language, so passages through an interpreter come back in the language that was spoken.
What can I download, and who can see the hearing audio?
Downloads come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Hearing recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and you can delete the recording and its text whenever you need to.
