Transcribe a Galician council meeting so the record of the plenary starts itself.
A 2.5-hour Galician-language council plenary is transcribed in about 5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, and Galician is recognised without any setting. A year of monthly 2.5-hour plenaries is 1,800 minutes, inside the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes.
For municipal secretaries and clerks
The plenary ends at nine. The draft record can be open on the desk by ten past.
Each point of the agenda, located
Chapters follow the order of business, from the approval of the previous record to requests and questions, so the person writing the record moves item by item with the timestamp beside each point.
The numbers the debate turns on
Budget amounts, contract figures, vote counts and dates mentioned in the debate are listed in the brief with the second they were spoken. Checking a figure takes a click, not a replay.
Recorder files from the chamber
A desk recorder writing WAV at 48 kHz, 16-bit mono uses about 345.6 MB per hour, so a 2.5-hour plenary is near 864 MB. That is over the 500 MB box on this page and under the 5 GB a file can be, so send it through the upload page.
One careful read
Galician output is a fast first draft, plan one review pass, mainly for parish and place names, surnames and the exact text of each motion. The result is a working transcript to write the record from, not an official or certified record.
Why the record takes a week
Two languages, a dozen interventions per item and one recording to go back through.
✗ The usual process
The secretary rebuilds the session from notes and the audio, replaying each intervention to get the wording right.
- Replaying long debates for one quote
- Galician and Spanish mixed within an item
- Vote counts confirmed from the video
- Session audio too large to email
- Nothing searchable for residents
- Generic tools tuned for English
✓ With the transcript
The plenary comes back as Galician text with an agenda-shaped chapter list, ready for drafting the same evening.
- About 5 minutes per 2.5-hour session
- Chapters per agenda point
- Each councillor given the floor named in the summary
- Amounts and votes listed with timestamps
- Chat to find every mention of a project
- Packs from $4 for 300 minutes
Sample output
An ordinary plenary session, opening to questions.
Galician lines invented for this page as an illustration; no real council or councillor appears. In English: good afternoon, the ordinary plenary begins; second item: approval of the budget; our group will vote against because the proposal leaves out the parishes; votes in favour, against, approved by majority; requests and questions, the councillor has the floor.

FAQ
Galician council recordings, answered.
How fast is a Galician plenary transcribed?
A 2.5-hour session takes about 5 minutes and a 90-minute committee about 3, at the usual pace of roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio.
Which pack fits our year?
Twelve monthly plenaries of 2.5 hours are 1,800 minutes on the $18 pack of 3,000. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. A $19/month Workspace exists for a team that records every week.
Councillors switch between Galician and Spanish. What happens?
Galician is detected automatically as the main language and English terms inside the speech are handled. A recording that switches language is detected on its main language, so long Spanish interventions are the passages to check during the review.
Is there a size or length limit for one session?
A single session file may run to 10 hours or 5 GB. Uploads are accepted up to 5 GB per file; a bigger file can be split or sent as audio. A session streamed to YouTube can be pasted as a link, and nothing needs to be uploaded.
Does the transcript show which councillor spoke?
Councillors introduced or given the floor by name are identified in the summary, key quotes and chapters. The transcript lines carry no speaker tags, so attributions in the record are confirmed against those sections and the audio.
Where does the audio go, and what do we get back?
The plenary is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training. You download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, and the brief, chapters and figures sit with the transcript.
