Transcribe long audio in another language without picking it from a list.
A long recording in Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Hebrew or any of 99 languages is transcribed with the language detected automatically, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. The first 20 minutes are free, so you can check the language came out right; a 3-hour recording is 180 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500.
Long, and not in English
The language is found for you. The length is not a problem either.
No language to choose
The main language is detected from the audio itself. A Korean seminar, a Swedish oral history, a Portuguese lecture series and a Zulu community meeting all go through the same upload box with nothing set beforehand.
Check the first 20 minutes
New visitors get the first 20 minutes free in whatever language was spoken. With an unfamiliar language that preview is the useful part: you see whether names, place names and terms came out the way the speakers said them before paying for the rest.
Same price in every language
A 3-hour Japanese seminar is 180 minutes, about 6 minutes to process, and fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 320 to spare. No language costs more, and every price is in US dollars.
Transcribed, not translated
The text comes back in the language that was spoken, with chapters, a brief and the names, numbers and dates pulled out. If you need English, export DOCX and run it through the translation tool you already trust.
Why other languages are harder elsewhere
Long recordings outside English hit two walls at once.
✗ A short limit and a narrow list
Many tools support a handful of languages well and cap the length on top of that.
- A language menu you must get right first
- English-only on the free tier
- A one-hour length cap
- A paid typist who speaks the language
- Weeks of turnaround for rare pairs
- Higher rates for less common languages
✓ Any of 99, at full length
The file goes up as recorded and the language is worked out from the speech.
- Language detected automatically
- Full length, up to 10 h or 5 GB
- First 20 minutes free
- One price ladder from $6
- Each voice named in the summary and quotes

FAQ
Long audio in another language, the questions.
Which languages can a long recording be in?
Any of 99, detected automatically, among them Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Hebrew, Afrikaans, Zulu and Tagalog. Regional Philippine languages such as Cebuano, Ilocano and Hiligaynon are supported too, but accuracy trails the major languages, so treat that text as a fast first draft and plan one review pass.
How long does a long recording in another language take?
The same as English: about 2 minutes per audio hour, so a 3-hour recording takes around 6 minutes. The language does not change the speed.
What does it cost to transcribe a few hours in another language?
The same ladder as any recording. Three hours is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500; ten hours is 600 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000. All of it is priced in US dollars, and a first-time visitor gets the opening 20 minutes free.
How long or large can a foreign-language file be?
Any one file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB start right away; a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. Past 10 hours, upload the recording as two files.
Will it translate the recording into English?
No. The transcript is written in the language that was spoken. Export it as DOCX or TXT and translate it with the tool you prefer; the timestamps in the original make it easy to check a translated line against the audio.
Which exports are there, and does the audio stay private?
The transcript in its own language exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, whatever the language.
