Transcribe a long Canon Cinema RAW Light file conference sessions and interviews, as text.
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. CRM footage commonly runs to hundreds of gigabytes an hour, so export a WAV or MP3 (about 115 MB for 2 hours at 128 kbps) and upload that.
Canon RAW, sorted
CRM keeps every detail of the image. The transcript is made from the sound alone.
Which cameras write CRM
Cinema RAW Light is recorded internally by several Canon Cinema EOS cameras and some EOS R bodies; check your model's specifications, as support varies by body and firmware. Crews use it for conferences, corporate interviews and documentaries, where a single session can run for hours.
Why it will not upload
Cinema RAW Light runs at roughly one to two gigabits per second at 4K depending on the quality setting and frame rate, which is in the region of several hundred gigabytes an hour. Even a few minutes passes the 5 GB per-file limit, so the footage stays on your drive.
Getting the sound out
Open the clip in software that reads CRM, such as Canon's own RAW development tool or an editor with Canon RAW support like DaVinci Resolve, and export the audio as WAV or MP3 (exact menus differ by version). If the camera also wrote a proxy or an MP4 to a second card, that small file often carries the same sound and may upload as it is. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page.
Back from the transcript
The text arrives with timestamps, a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters, key quotes, and the names, numbers and dates said on stage. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Export DOCX for the write-up or SRT and VTT for subtitles.

FAQ
Long CRM sessions: questions
Can I upload a .CRM file directly?
Not in practice. The footage passes the 5 GB per-file limit within minutes, and general tools usually cannot read the format. Export the audio as WAV or MP3; if the upload refuses the exported file, convert it to MP3 or MP4 with ffmpeg or VLC.
How big is the exported audio?
At 128 kbps an MP3 is about 58 MB an hour, so a 2-hour panel is about 115 MB and fits the box on this page. A 48 kHz, 24-bit stereo WAV is about 1.04 GB an hour; the same panel is about 2.1 GB, which goes through the main upload page and, being under 5 GB, uploads with or without a pack.
How long does a full conference day take?
About 2 minutes per audio hour. A 7-hour day exported as one file is ready in roughly 14 minutes; separate session files are each a few minutes.
What does a two-day conference cost?
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. Every recording starts with a free preview of its opening minutes; a longer recording is previewed and a pack transcribes the rest.
Sound came from the venue's mixing desk.
Use that recording if you have it: a desk feed is usually cleaner than the camera microphone. Transcribe one source per session so the minutes are not counted twice.
Languages, exports and privacy?
99 languages are detected automatically, and talks that drop English terms into another language are handled. Applause and music are not transcribed; the speech is. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
