Transcribe long interviews for the story, the archive or the file.
Long interviews recorded in Israel, whether for an article, an oral history archive or an HR process, regularly run past an hour and sometimes past three. A three-hour interview comes back in about 6 minutes with Hebrew or English detected automatically, the first 20 minutes are free, and the full 180 minutes fit inside a $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Three kinds of long interview
Whatever the interview is for, the words come back with their minute.
For a journalist on deadline
A ninety-minute interview with a source is ready in about 3 minutes. Each quote in the key quotes list carries the timestamp where it was said, so you can play the exact moment back before it goes into print and settle any question about wording.
For an oral history archive
Life-story interviews often run two to four hours, recorded in a living room on a handheld recorder. One file up to 10 hours goes up whole, and the chapters follow the story through its decades so a researcher can open the part about a particular place or year.
For an HR or investigation file
Interviews for a workplace review are long and need a careful record. The transcript shows what was asked and answered with timestamps, and the people involved are named in the summary and quotes. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so the file stays within your process.
What a series costs
Twelve oral histories of two and a half hours each come to 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single long interview fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Minutes never expire, so an archive project can buy once and use them over a year.
Why long interviews get left as audio
An interview that runs three hours takes a working week to type.
✗ Typing it out
The usual options for a long interview are slow, expensive or both.
- Fifteen to eighteen hours of typing for three hours of talk
- A service that charges per minute and takes days
- Free tools that stop after the first half hour
- Quotes checked by scrubbing through the recording
- Hebrew sent to a typist who does not know the names
- The archive copy never actually made
✓ One file, one transcript
The whole interview goes up once and every answer comes back with its time.
- About 6 minutes for a 3-hour interview
- The first 20 minutes free to check names
- Key quotes with timestamps
- Chapters through a long life story
- DOCX for the archive, TXT for search
- One-time packs from $6

FAQ
Long interviews in Israel, answered.
How long does a three-hour interview take to transcribe?
About 6 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 90-minute press interview takes about 3, so it is usually ready before you have finished your notes.
What does a long interview cost?
A three-hour interview is 180 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes with room for two more of that length. For a series, twelve interviews of 150 minutes total 1,800 minutes and fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
My recorder made a WAV file. Is it too big?
Three hours of WAV is roughly 1.8 GB, which uploads before the first pack because it is under 2 GB. After a pack, the ceiling per file is 5 GB or 10 hours, so even very high-quality recordings go up as they are.
The interview was recorded across two sessions. Do I combine them?
Upload each session as its own file. Each gets its own timestamps, which keeps citations precise, and you can join the DOCX exports afterwards if the archive wants one document.
Does it work in Hebrew, and what about an interview in two languages?
Hebrew is detected automatically and so is English, among 99 languages. When an interview moves between them it is transcribed on its main language, so listen again to passages in the second language before you quote them.
Which formats can I export?
The exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. DOCX suits an archive or an editor, SRT and VTT caption an interview video, and JSON keeps every timestamp for a database or a search index.
