Recorded on the wrist · synced to iPhone · M4A

Transcribe Apple Watch voice memos once they reach the phone.

A voice memo recorded on an Apple Watch syncs to the Voice Memos app on the paired iPhone, where it is an ordinary M4A file you can share and upload. A 90-minute memo is transcribed here in about 3 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free.

Packs from $6, credits never expire · then from $0.36/hour · Credits never expire · Never used to train AI

From the wrist to the text

Record without reaching for the phone. Read it later in full.

Let it sync first

Memos made on the watch appear in Voice Memos on the iPhone after they sync. Open the iPhone app and check the recording is there and plays to the end before you share it, especially after a long session.

Share from the iPhone

From the memo's menu, choose Share and then Save to Files, or AirDrop it to a Mac. On the phone, open this page in Safari, tap the upload box and pick the saved memo from Files.

Three minutes for ninety

With roughly 2 minutes of work for each hour of sound, a 90-minute walking meeting comes back in about 3 minutes and a two-hour talk in about 4. You can close the tab once the upload completes.

Wrist audio, readable

A watch on a sleeve picks up the room as well as the voice, and the transcript gives you what you need from it: a brief, chapters with timestamps, the names and numbers spoken, and a chat you can question about the memo.

Why watch memos pile up

Recorded in a moment, buried in a list.

✗ Memos left as audio

Recording from the wrist is quick, and that is why so many memos are never played again.

  • Dozens of memos named only by time
  • Listening at double speed to find one remark
  • Long memos skipped entirely
  • Notes typed afterwards from memory
  • Short-clip apps that stop at minute thirty
  • A subscription for a handful of memos

✓ Memos as documents

Share the synced memo once and search it after. The watch is the microphone; the iPhone is where the file lives once it syncs.

  • Upload from the iPhone in Safari
  • A couple of minutes per recorded hour
  • Each speaker named in the summary and chapters
  • Chapters with timestamps for every topic
  • First 20 minutes free
  • Pack minutes with no expiry date

Sample

A 90-minute site walk, recorded on a watch.

This sample is illustrative and invented for this page, not a real Apple Watch recording. Timestamps follow the synced memo from its first second.

00:00:40 I'm recording on my watch, so stay close when you point something out. We start at the loading bay.
00:21:57 The second door sticks in the cold. We logged it twice last winter and nothing changed.
00:58:12 Note for the report: the ramp needs a handrail on both sides before the inspection.
01:28:30 That covers the building. I'll send the list round tomorrow with names against each item.

FAQ

Apple Watch memos, answered.

How long does a watch memo take to transcribe?

About 2 minutes for every hour of audio. A 30-minute memo takes about a minute, a 90-minute one about 3.

What does a long watch memo cost?

A 90-minute memo is 90 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free for a first-time visitor, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes transcribes the rest with 410 minutes left. Ten such memos in a month, 900 minutes, would fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

Is the memo file size a problem?

No. It is the same M4A Voice Memos saves on the iPhone, a small file per hour of voice. One upload can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB.

What if a memo is split across several recordings?

Upload each recording on its own; each gets its own transcript and timestamps. A single memo only needs splitting if it is longer than 10 hours.

Can it transcribe memos in other languages?

Yes, 99 of them, detected automatically. A memo that switches between English and Tagalog is handled within the same recording.

Which exports are available, and is the memo kept private?

Downloads are offered in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a memo and its text whenever you want.
