BoldBeast to text

Long calls are where the details hide. A transcript puts them on one page.

Where the files live

BoldBeast stores its recordings in a folder you can set in the app, and recordings can usually be shared from its list. The audio format depends on the recording settings you chose, so check them if a file manager shows something unexpected. Whether a call records also depends on the phone model and Android version.

Small files, long calls

Call audio is light. If the app saves around 48 kbps, two hours is about 43.2 MB (48,000 bits a second × 7,200 seconds ÷ 8), well inside this page's 500 MB upload box and nowhere near the 10 hours or 5 GB one file may hold. If the upload refuses a format, convert the file to MP3 and try again.

Conference calls on a pack

Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. Credits stay on the account until used, so a quiet month costs nothing and a busy one draws on what is left.

Permission to record

Recording a call needs the consent the law where everyone on it is located requires. Check the rule, tell people at the start, and transcribe only calls you were permitted to record. With several people on a conference line, saying so once at the opening covers everyone who is already there.

Call recordings elsewhere

A two-hour call is easy to record and hard to use.

✗ Recording only

Long calls you would have to replay to quote.

  • Hours of audio per week
  • Action items forgotten
  • Figures disputed later
  • OpenAI's Whisper API caps a file at 25 MB
  • Notes from memory
  • Searching by scrubbing

✓ Recording transcribed

A brief, chapters and every figure, in minutes.

  • Two-hour calls in about four minutes
  • Participants named in the summary
  • Figures and dates listed
  • Chapters per agenda item
  • Chat over the call
  • DOCX for the minutes

FAQ

BoldBeast recordings, answered.

How quickly is a 2-hour call done?

In about 4 minutes. The rate is about 2 minutes per hour of audio, and a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds on /proof/long-files.

What will one long call cost me?

The opening minutes are a free preview. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

Do I have to rename or convert the files?

Usually not. Upload the file as BoldBeast saved it. If a particular format is refused, convert it to MP3. File names stay as they are, and the transcript is titled in your Library.

What about a call that ran all afternoon?

One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so even a 6-hour call goes in as one upload. Without a pack yet, one upload can still be up to 5 GB. Anything over 10 hours goes in as two files.

Which languages work?

99 languages are detected automatically, and a call that switches language is detected on its main language with the switches handled. You do not choose a language first.

Is the call kept private?

Calls are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and you can delete a call and its transcript from your Library. WhipScribe has no integration with BoldBeast; it works only on files you upload.
