Canva presentation recording · download, then upload · about 2 min per hour

Transcribe a Canva presentation recording from the downloaded video.

To transcribe a talk you recorded in Canva, download the presentation as a video, usually an MP4, and upload that file here; a 90-minute recorded talk is ready in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and 90 minutes takes a small share of the $6 pack of 500 minutes. WhipScribe has no Canva app or connection, so it only sees the video you download.

✓90 minutes of talk in ~3 minutes · ✓Videos to 10 h or 5 GB · ✓One payment, from $6 · ✓Talks never feed model training

From Canva to text

Your face in the corner, your slides behind you. The words are what you need next.

Download the recorded presentation

A recording made in Canva stays attached to the design until you download it. Use the download option in the share menu and pick a video format, which is usually MP4; menu names change between versions, so check the download settings if yours looks different. The file goes wherever your browser or the desktop app saves downloads.

Long talks recorded in parts

Hour-long talks are often recorded across several sessions or pages. Downloading the whole design as one video joins them in page order, so the transcript keeps one timeline from the first page to the last instead of a stack of separate clips. Before uploading, play a minute of the downloaded video to check the sound came with it.

A course recorded in Canva

Thirty lessons of 40 minutes are 1,200 minutes, a fit for the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 800 to spare. A single 90-minute talk uses 90 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack. No subscription is involved, and unused credits stay on the account.

Upload the MP4 untouched

Drop the MP4 on upload page without trimming or converting. Background music from a template and transition sounds are left out; your voice, and anyone talking with you, comes back as text.

Where Canva recordings stall

The talk looks polished. Turning it into notes, captions or a blog post is still manual.

✗ Working from the Canva video

Rewatching yourself is the slowest way to recover what you said.

  • Scrubbing the video to find a single example
  • Retyping the talk to write a follow-up post
  • An upload limit of 25 MB on the Whisper API, below a talk video
  • Splitting the download to fit short-clip tools
  • Replay captions typed out by hand
  • Links and dates said aloud and then lost

✓ Working from the talk's transcript

The same talk, ready to quote, caption and reuse.

  • A single upload for the whole presentation
  • Chapters for each part of the talk
  • Names, numbers and dates collected from the talk
  • The questions your talk answers
  • A chat that finds any point you made
  • SRT and VTT files to caption the replay

FAQ

Canva recordings, answered.

How long does a 90-minute Canva recording take?

Roughly 3 minutes; the pace is about 2 minutes for each hour of speech. A recording of 20 minutes comes back in under a minute.

I cannot find a video option when I download. Why?

Download menus change between Canva versions. Look for MP4 or a video choice in the download settings; if the design has no recorded audio attached, the download is just the slides and there is nothing to transcribe.

What does a recorded course cost?

Thirty 40-minute lessons come to 1,200 minutes and belong on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single 90-minute talk sits on the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A first visit includes the first 20 minutes free, and the pack transcribes the remainder from where the preview stopped.

Does WhipScribe work inside Canva?

No. There is no Canva app, integration or embed. Download the video and upload it, or paste a YouTube, Vimeo or Drive link if the talk is already published there.

How long or large can the Canva video be?

A Canva download can be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB. Videos up to 2 GB upload before any pack, and a heavier one waits until a pack is on the account. A recorded talk at modest resolution rarely gets near that.

Which languages and exports, and what happens to my video?

Any of 99 languages, detected automatically, and exports in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. You and any co-presenter are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Your video is transcribed on our own servers and is not used for training, ever.
