Transcribe a long Dailymotion video from your own copy.
A long Dailymotion upload or replay is transcribed from a downloaded copy of the video, uploaded here, and a 2-hour video is text in about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers it with 380 minutes still on the pack.
From Dailymotion to a transcript
Dailymotion links are not fetched here, so the transcript starts with the file you own.
Download from your own channel
The simplest source is the original file you uploaded to Dailymotion. If that is gone, check your video's settings in the Dailymotion account for a download option, and upload what you get, usually an MP4.
Size arithmetic for a 2-hour video
At 3 Mbps, two hours of video is 2.7 GB (3,000,000 × 7,200 seconds ÷ 8). That is over the 2 GB that uploads before the first pack, so add a pack first or export the audio: two hours of 128 kbps MP3 is roughly 115 MB.
Replays of live broadcasts
Talk programmes, sports discussion and live events replayed on Dailymotion often run two hours or more. Speech is transcribed while crowd noise and music are left out, so a match-day phone-in reads as the conversation, not the stadium.
Subtitles for your own player
SRT and VTT files come from the same run as the transcript. Add them as subtitles wherever the video is hosted, and keep the DOCX as the written record of the broadcast.
Why long videos stay unsearchable
The replay has two hours of speech in it. None of it can be found.
✗ Stuck in the replay
Viewers and editors scrub through the timeline to find one remark.
- No link import for Dailymotion pages
- A 2.7 GB video over the first upload limit
- Subtitles typed by hand
- Highlights chosen by memory
- No written record of what was said
- Archives that only play, never search
✓ The broadcast as text
One file in, and the replay becomes a transcript, a brief and chapters.
- A two-hour video in about 4 minutes
- The first 20 minutes free to judge it
- An MP3 export to keep the upload small
- Presenters named in the brief and quotes
- A season of weekly replays on the $12 pack
- SRT and VTT from the same run

FAQ
Dailymotion videos, the common questions.
How long does a 2-hour Dailymotion video take?
Close to 4 minutes, since processing takes about 2 minutes per audio hour. A five-hour event replay takes about 10, and the published timings are at /proof/long-files.
What does a weekly programme cost?
One 2-hour replay is 120 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. A season of 13 weekly 2-hour programmes is 1,560 minutes, on the $12 pack of 2,000. Above 2,000 minutes, the $24 pack of 5,000 is the one to buy.
Why can't I paste the Dailymotion link?
Dailymotion is not among the link types we fetch, which are YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast or RSS feeds. Download your video and upload it, or paste a link to the same video on one of those platforms. Only transcribe videos you own or have the right to use.
What are the limits, and when do I split a video?
One file takes up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and before the first pack uploads go up to 2 GB. Only a replay past 10 hours needs to be split into two files. If the upload refuses the Dailymotion file, convert it to MP3 first.
Does it handle French or Spanish broadcasts?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, French and Spanish among them, and a broadcast that switches language is detected on its main one with the switches handled.
What exports come back, and is the video kept private?
Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, from one run. Videos uploaded from a Dailymotion channel are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
