Transcribe long footage exported from HitFilm interviews, rushes and long tutorials.
Export the HitFilm timeline, usually as an MP4, or as audio if your version offers it, and upload it here; six hours of interview footage is transcribed in about 12 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
Paper edit before picture edit
Cut faster when you can read every interview first. HitFilm handles the picture; WhipScribe handles the words.
Export for reading, not for viewing
In the export step, pick a preset with H.264 in an MP4, or an audio-only option if your version lists one; preset names vary between releases, so check what yours shows. For transcription, a small file beats a sharp one: 720p is plenty and audio alone is better.
Six hours, three sizes
At 1.5 Mbps, a 720p file is about 675 MB an hour, so six hours is around 4 GB, under the 5 GB one file can be. An AAC track at 160 kbps is about 432 MB for the same six hours and fits this page's 500 MB box. Larger video goes through the upload page.
A documentary's worth of interviews
Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. The $32 pack of 6,000 suits a slate of projects.
A paper edit in minutes
Each export returns a timestamped transcript, chapters, a brief with the thesis and takeaways, the names, numbers and dates said, and the questions answered. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so you can find the interviewee's strongest lines before you cut.
Hours of rushes, no paper edit

FAQ
HitFilm footage, answered.
How long does six hours of HitFilm footage take?
About 12 minutes once uploaded, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. An audio-only export uploads in a fraction of the time of a video file.
Do I need to export the video at all?
No. WhipScribe only uses the speech, so an audio export gives the same transcript at a fraction of the size. Export video if you want the file for other uses anyway.
What does a project cost?
Every file starts with a free preview of its opening minutes, and a pack finishes it from the point the preview reached. Six hours is 360 minutes of the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes. Twenty 90-minute interviews are 1,800 minutes, inside the $18 pack of 3,000. No subscription, credits never expire.
Is there a HitFilm plugin?
No. WhipScribe has no plugin, add-on or integration with HitFilm. Export, then upload; if the finished film is on Vimeo or YouTube, that link works too.
What if my timeline is longer than 10 hours?
Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a longer assembly goes up as two exports. Anything above 5 GB has to be split or exported as audio first.
Are the subtitles and transcript private?
Transcription happens on our own servers; recordings are never used for training. Subtitles come as SRT or VTT, text as TXT, DOCX or JSON, and the spoken language is picked up automatically from 99.
