From your Moto to the minutes

Three hours on a phone becomes something you can skim in five minutes.

Which recorder you have

Motorola phones differ: depending on the model, recordings may come from a preinstalled recorder, Google's Recorder or an app from the Play Store. Whichever it is, open the recording and use its share option, which hands over the audio file; it is usually an M4A or MP3, but check the app's settings. Then upload it on upload page.

Names in the summary

Speakers are identified and named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters, so a three-hour meeting shows which person took on each action. Names, figures and dates said aloud are collected in one list, and the DOCX export gives you a first draft of the minutes.

Counting the minutes

A 3-hour meeting uses 180 minutes, and two of them take 360 of the 500 in the $6 pack. A weekly 3-hour meeting for a quarter, thirteen sessions, is 2,340 minutes and needs the $24 pack of 5,000. Meeting every other week for the quarter, about seven sessions, comes to 1,260 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000.

Nothing runs on the phone

WhipScribe has no integration with Motorola's software and no bot that listens in. It works on the recording afterwards, from the file you choose to upload.

Moto recordings left alone

Long recordings on a phone tend to be kept, not read.

✗ Still on the phone

Three hours of audio and a rough memory of what happened.

  • Replaying to confirm a single number
  • Tasks from the meeting that nobody noted
  • OpenAI's Whisper API refusing a 3-hour file over 25 MB
  • A Moto gallery of untitled audio
  • Minutes typed up days later
  • Disputes about the agreed dates

✓ Shared and transcribed

The meeting as chapters, names and text.

  • A 3-hour Moto file in about 6 minutes
  • Two recordings on the $6 pack
  • Actions with names attached
  • Figures and dates listed
  • Chat to check a detail
  • DOCX draft of the minutes

FAQ

Motorola recordings, the common questions.

How long will a 3-hour recording take?

Around 6 minutes. Processing averages about 2 minutes for each hour of audio, and the longest proof run, 9.31 hours, took 1,033 seconds.

Is it legal to record the meeting?

Record people only with the consent the law where you are requires. WhipScribe never joins a call or a room; it transcribes the file you upload afterwards.

How large is a 3-hour phone recording?

Usually small. At 64 kbps, a modest voice setting, an hour is about 29 MB, so three hours stays under 90 MB. Every file may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and uploads before a first pack go to 2 GB.

What will it cost me?

New visitors get the first 20 minutes free; a longer recording is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes the remainder from that point. Two 3-hour recordings then fit its 500 minutes, and unused credits stay on the account.

My Moto meeting was in another language. Does that matter?

It detects 99 languages automatically. A meeting that moves between English and Spanish, Hindi or Tagalog is detected on its main language and the switches are handled.

What can I export, and where is the audio processed?

Pick DOCX for the minutes, or TXT, SRT, VTT and JSON. Moto recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never go into model training.
