Transcribe a long episode you found in Pocket Casts from the feed behind it.
To transcribe a long episode you listen to in Pocket Casts, paste the podcast's RSS feed link or upload the episode's MP3, and a 3-hour episode comes back as text in about 6 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest with 320 minutes left. Pocket Casts is the player; the feed it reads from is what we fetch.
From the app to the text
Pocket Casts plays the episode. The feed behind it is where the transcript starts.
Find the feed behind the app
Almost every show in Pocket Casts comes from an RSS feed published by the show's host. The show's own website usually links it, often beside the buttons for other podcast apps, and that address is the one to paste here.
Why the Pocket Casts share link fails
A Pocket Casts share link opens a player page rather than the audio, and it is not one of the link types we fetch. The feed address or the episode file are the two inputs that work.
Or download the episode once
Many show websites offer a download link for each episode, usually an MP3. Save it and drop it here: a 3-hour MP3 at 128 kbps is about 173 MB, far under the 2 GB that uploads before a pack.
Notes you can keep
The brief gives the episode's argument and takeaways in a few lines, the chapters carry timestamps you can jump back to in the player, and a chat over the transcript answers the question you half remember from minute 140. Host and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.
Why listeners lose long episodes
You heard the good part at double speed on a commute. Finding it again means scrubbing.
✗ Audio only
A great three-hour conversation is hard to cite, share or come back to.
- Scrubbing back for one remembered line
- Bookmarks with no words attached
- Notes typed with one thumb mid-walk
- No search across a back catalogue
- Share links that only open a player
- Long shows skipped for being long
✓ The episode as text
One feed link or one MP3, and the conversation becomes something you can read and search.
- Three hours turned around in about 6 minutes
- First 20 minutes free to judge the text
- Chapters with timestamps to jump back
- Names, numbers and books mentioned, listed
- A chat over the transcript for questions
- Fifty 90-minute episodes on one $24 pack
Sample
A three-hour interview episode, as text.
This sample is illustrative. The conversation was written for this page and is not from any real podcast; the timestamps place it inside a three-hour episode.

FAQ
Pocket Casts episodes, the common questions.
How long does a 3-hour Pocket Casts episode take?
Around 6 minutes, because processing runs near 2 minutes per audio hour. A feed link starts without any upload wait, and a 4.94-hour recording finished in 372 seconds on the public timing page.
What does one long episode cost, and a whole back catalogue?
A 3-hour episode is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500, leaving 320. Ten 3-hour episodes are 1,800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. Fifty episodes of 90 minutes are 4,500 minutes, on the $24 pack of 5,000.
Where do I find a podcast's RSS feed if Pocket Casts does not show it?
Check the show's website or the page of its podcast host; feed addresses often end in /rss, /feed or .xml. If no feed is public, download the episode file from the show's site and upload it. If the show posts full episodes on YouTube, that link works too.
Is there a cap on episode size or length?
One file can be 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first, and before the first pack uploads go up to 2 GB. A rare episode longer than 10 hours goes in as two files, while ordinary MP3 episodes sit far below either limit.
Does it work for podcasts that are not in English?
Yes. The episode's language is detected automatically from 99, Korean, Portuguese and Hebrew among them. A show that switches languages is detected on its main one and the switches are handled, while theme music and stings are left out.
Can I export the text, and is my listening private?
The text exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Episodes you send are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and nothing is posted back to the show or to Pocket Casts.
