Transcribe a long Samsung Galaxy camera recording a lecture, a meeting or an event.
A 90-minute lecture filmed with a Samsung Galaxy camera comes back as text in about 3 minutes, and each MP4 may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The first 20 minutes are free, a single lecture fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and the resolution you filmed at decides whether the file needs shrinking first.
From the Gallery to the text
A long phone video of a class is mostly sound worth reading, wrapped in a lot of picture.
Where the MP4 lands
The Galaxy camera saves video as MP4 to the Camera folder inside DCIM, and the Gallery app shows it there. Connect the phone to a computer and copy the file across, or tap the upload box on this page from the phone's browser and choose the video directly.
Size by resolution
Size equals bitrate times duration. At 20 Mbps, an hour of video is about 9 GB; at 50 Mbps it is about 22.5 GB. A 90-minute lecture at 1080p usually lands somewhere in the low gigabytes, while the same class in 4K or 8K can be several times the 5 GB a file may be.
Keep long classes small
For a lecture you plan to read rather than rewatch, film at 1080p, or record the sound alone with a voice recorder app. Files up to 2 GB go up before a pack, and anything to 5 GB starts once a pack is on the account. A Google Drive share link avoids the phone upload entirely.
Notes from one class
Each lecture returns with a brief of the main argument, chapters with timestamps per topic, and the names, numbers and dates the lecturer gave. Ask the chat what was said about the coursework, and it answers from the transcript with the time it was said.
Phone lectures elsewhere
A full class on a phone is a big video and a long recording at once.
✗ The usual dead ends
Two limits at once: the size and the length.
- A 25 MB ceiling on the OpenAI Whisper API
- Free plans that end at 30 or 60 minutes
- A 4K video too large for the phone to send
- Converting every class before upload
- Lecture split across three transcripts
- Revising by scrubbing through video
✓ This way
One MP4 per class, read in minutes.
- Galaxy MP4 accepted as recorded
- A class read in about 3 minutes
- Files up to 5 GB once a pack is on
- A chapter for each topic covered
- The first 20 minutes of class free
- A week of classes on one $12 pack

FAQ
Samsung Galaxy camera recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 90-minute Galaxy video take?
About 3 minutes, because processing runs at around 2 minutes per hour of audio. A full 3-hour seminar is ready in roughly 6.
What does a week of lectures cost?
Six 90-minute lectures come to 540 minutes, which is more than the $6 pack holds, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes is the one to buy, with 1,460 left for later weeks. A single lecture fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free on a first visit.
How big is a long Galaxy video, and will it upload?
Multiply bitrate by time: 20 Mbps for an hour is about 9 GB. Any file to 2 GB uploads before a pack, and to 5 GB after one. Above that, export a 1080p copy or the audio alone, or paste a Google Drive link.
The camera made two files for one class. What now?
No. Upload each as its own transcript, or join them in an editor first if you want one timeline. Keep the joined file within 10 hours.
Can the lecture be in another language?
Yes: 99 languages are detected automatically, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese among them. A class that switches language is transcribed on its main one.
Which files come back, and is the video private?
You can download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON for every lecture. The recording is transcribed on our own servers, never used to train a model, and you can delete it and its text whenever you like.
