Transcribe long stand.fm episodes episodes and lives, as Japanese text.
A long stand.fm episode or live transcribes from the audio you export as the host, or from your podcast RSS link if the channel is distributed as a podcast, and an 80-minute episode comes back in under 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and six 80-minute episodes (480 minutes) fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
From the episode to the page
Chatty episodes and long lives make some of the most useful text a host owns.
Two ways in
If your stand.fm channel also goes out as a podcast, paste its RSS feed link and choose the episode, with no download. Otherwise use the audio you recorded or exported as the host, and check its format before uploading; most audio files work. Either way, start on upload page.
Lives run long
A live with listeners can run for hours, and one file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. A 3-hour live comes back in about 6 minutes, with chapters at each topic change and the questions listeners asked listed in the brief. Lives over 6 hours start once a pack is on the account. If you kept the live as video from a screen recorder, it uploads the same way, and converting it to audio first makes the file much smaller.
Weekly shows on a pack
A weekly 80-minute episode is about 320 minutes a month, inside the $6 pack of 500. Add a 2-hour live each week and the month reaches 800 minutes, which belongs on the $12 pack of 2,000. A daily 40-minute show runs about 1,200 minutes a month, also on the $12 pack.
Words you can reuse
The brief gives a thesis and takeaways for show notes, the chapters become episode timestamps, and the DOCX export is a draft for a blog post. Japanese is detected automatically, and English terms in the conversation are kept. In a guest conversation, each speaker is named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which makes crediting them in the notes easy.

FAQ
stand.fm episodes, the common questions.
How long does an 80-minute episode take?
Under 3 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. Even the 9.31-hour run on the proof page needed only 1,033 seconds.
Can I paste a stand.fm link?
A stand.fm page link is not read directly. Paste the podcast RSS feed if your channel has one, or upload the audio file. With a feed pasted, you choose the episode from its list, older ones included, which is a quick way to put a back catalogue into text.
My live was very long. Is that a problem?
Only beyond 10 hours or 5 GB, the per-file limits. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, which covers many hours of compressed audio, and a live longer than 10 hours goes in as two files.
How is Japanese handled?
It is detected automatically from 99 languages. Conversation that drifts into English, or a guest who speaks English, stays within one recording and is handled.
What will the first episode cost?
First-time visitors get the first 20 minutes free; a longer episode is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from that point. Credits never expire after that, so a pack bought for one long live keeps working for the weekly episodes.
Which formats come back, and is there a stand.fm integration?
Episodes download as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. There is no integration with stand.fm, and host audio is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training.
