Transcribe a long Vonage recording calls and meetings alike.
A 3-hour Vonage meeting or call recording is transcribed in about 6 minutes once you download it from your Vonage account and upload it here, with each file allowed up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The first 20 minutes are free, and three hours use 180 of the 500 minutes in a $6 pack. WhipScribe is not connected to Vonage and sends no bot into calls; it reads the file you download.
Out of Vonage, into text
Vonage keeps the recording in your account. Downloading it is the only step on that side.
Calls and meetings
Business accounts on Vonage can record phone calls and video meetings, and which features you have depends on the plan your company bought. Recorded calls are usually listed in the app or the admin portal with a download option, and meeting recordings appear in a recordings area of their own. The file type varies, often an MP3 for calls and an MP4 for meetings, so check the download options.
Uploading the file
Drop the download in the box above. A meeting with video and screen share is the heavy case: at 1 megabit per second, three hours of video comes to about 1.35 GB. The box hands larger files to the upload page, which takes up to 5 GB.
A month of recordings, priced
A team that records 40 hours of calls and meetings in a month has 2,400 minutes of audio. That is past the $12 pack's 2,000 minutes, so the $24 pack of 5,000 is the right one, and the minutes left over roll into the next month because credits never expire.
What a recording returns
A brief of the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates said aloud. Everyone who spoke is identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so follow-ups can be assigned without replaying the call.
Where Vonage recordings stall
The recording exists. What was agreed on it is still a matter of memory.

FAQ
Vonage recordings, answered.
How long does a 3-hour Vonage recording take?
About 6 minutes after the upload, because processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 45-minute call takes about a minute and a half. Uploading a large video usually takes longer than the transcription itself.
What does a month of Vonage recordings cost?
The first 20 minutes of your first visit are free. Up to 500 minutes fit the $6 pack, up to 2,000 the $12 pack, and a 2,400-minute month the $24 pack of 5,000. Payment is one-time, in US dollars, and credits do not expire.
Where are Vonage recordings downloaded from?
Usually from the call history or recordings list in the Vonage app, or from the admin portal for administrators. What you can see depends on your role and plan. If you only took part in the meeting, ask the person who recorded it to download and share the file.
What if the file is huge or runs over 10 hours?
Each file may be 10 hours long or 5 GB. Uploads stay under 2 GB until a first pack is bought, and a larger file starts once one is. Recordings longer than 10 hours go in as two files, and keeping only the audio of a video makes it far lighter.
Do call recordings need consent?
Yes, whatever consent the law where the call takes place requires, which Vonage's announcement settings and your own policies should handle. WhipScribe works only on files you are entitled to upload.
Which exports come back, and is a Vonage recording private?
A Vonage recording exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Vonage recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Any of 99 languages is detected automatically, so a call partly in French needs no setting.
