Finding a copy of the broadcast
What YouNow keeps after you end a live has changed over the years, and whether a past broadcast can be downloaded depends on the app version and your account, so look in your profile and the broadcast's menu first. The dependable route is your own copy: an encoder such as OBS on a computer, or a screen recording on the phone, usually writes an MP4.
How the file reaches WhipScribe
There is no YouNow link to paste, so the recording comes in as an upload. The box on this page accepts files up to 500 MB; a longer broadcast continues on the main upload page, where one file may still run to 10 hours or 5 GB. If you sent the same show to YouTube or Twitch at the same time, paste that link instead.
Sizes and the 2 GB line
A phone stream at about 2.5 Mbps is roughly 1.1 GB an hour, so a 3-hour broadcast lands near 3.4 GB. Before your first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB. Either add a pack first, or save the soundtrack as M4A or MP3: at 128 kbps the same 3 hours is about 173 MB.
A month of going live
One 3-hour show a week is 720 minutes a month, which belongs in the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Going live for 2 hours five nights a week is about 22 broadcasts, or 2,640 minutes, and that calls for the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Credits carry over from month to month.

How long does a 3-hour YouNow broadcast take?
About 6 minutes, because processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. The public proof at /proof/long-files shows a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds. On a slow home connection, sending the video is often the longer wait.
Can I paste a YouNow link?
No. YouNow pages are not read directly. Upload the saved video or your local recording, or paste a YouTube, Twitch or Kick link if the same broadcast also went out there.
What does it cost to transcribe my shows?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer broadcast is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview stopped. Packs are $6 for 500 minutes, $12 for 2,000 and $24 for 5,000, paid once, with no subscription.
The file is 3.4 GB. Will it upload?
After your first pack, yes: one file may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before a pack, the ceiling is 2 GB, so extract the audio first or buy the pack and then upload. A marathon stream past 10 hours goes up as two files.
Is background music transcribed?
No. Music, sound effects and crowd noise are skipped and the speech is kept, including a guest you brought on. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters rather than on each line.
Is WhipScribe connected to YouNow?
It is not. There is no integration and no bot in your broadcast; the work happens on the file afterwards. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Upload only broadcasts you have the right to use.
