Transcribe long Zoom iQ7 recordings seminars and meetings recorded on an iPhone.
A 2.5-hour seminar recorded on an iPhone with a Zoom iQ7 is text in about 5 minutes, uploaded from the Files app or pasted as a Google Drive link. The first 20 minutes are free, and those 150 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 with 350 left.
Lightning mic, long sessions
The iQ7 makes a capable recorder out of an older iPhone. The transcript is the missing piece.
Getting the recording off the iPhone
The iQ7 connects through the Lightning port, so it suits iPhones that have one. Recordings stay in the app you used, such as Zoom's recorder app or another audio app, until you share them. Send the file to the Files app, iCloud Drive or Google Drive; then pick it on this page or paste a Drive share link.
Format and file size
A recorder app may save uncompressed WAV or a compressed format, depending on its settings; check yours. Stereo 16-bit WAV at 44.1 kHz is about 635 MB an hour, so 2.5 hours is near 1.6 GB: past the 500 MB box, so it continues on the main upload page, and still under the 2 GB allowed before a first pack.
Width for speech
Mid-side mics let you set how wide the stereo picture is. For a lecture or a meeting, a narrow setting pointed at the person speaking keeps the voice in front of the room noise; a wide setting suits music more than talk. Put the phone on a stand or a stack of books rather than holding it, so handling noise does not run through two hours of audio.
A term of seminars
Two 2.5-hour seminars a week for 12 weeks make 3,600 minutes, over 2,000, so the $24 pack of 5,000 fits with 1,400 left. Each seminar returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps, the names and dates said, and the questions it answers.

FAQ
Zoom iQ7 recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 2.5-hour iQ7 recording take?
About 5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A one-hour meeting takes about 2.
Can I paste a link instead of uploading?
Yes. Put the file in Google Drive with link sharing on and paste the share link. A recording posted to YouTube or Vimeo can be pasted as a link too.
What does a term of seminars cost?
Twenty-four 2.5-hour seminars are 3,600 minutes, on the $24 pack of 5,000. One seminar fits the $6 pack of 500, and the first 20 minutes of a first visit are free.
Is there an iQ7 app integration?
No. WhipScribe has no integration with the iQ7 or any recorder app, and it never touches your phone's settings. It transcribes the file you share, after the seminar has ended.
What if the lecturer mixes in English terms while speaking Korean?
The main language is detected automatically from 99, and English terms inside the speech are handled.
Which formats come back, and is it private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON are the exports. Seminar recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and nothing runs on your iPhone.
