Transcribe recordings made in a rehearsal room what the cast said, against what the script says.
A table read or production meeting recorded in a rehearsal room usually runs two to three hours, and a 3-hour recording comes back as text in about 6 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a week of rehearsals, five 3-hour days, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
What a rehearsal room does to sound
A big bare room and one recorder in the middle of the table.
Mirrors, sprung floors and echo
Rehearsal rooms are large and mostly empty, so voices carry and reflect. A recorder in the middle of the table hears everyone at a similar level, which suits a read. Actors at the far end, or turned away, come through softer, and the timestamps let you check those lines against the audio.
Read against the script
Lay the transcript beside the script to see where lines were changed, cut or improvised. Stage directions read aloud by the stage manager appear in the text too, which helps you keep your place in a long read.
What a week costs
Five days of 3-hour recordings is 900 minutes. That fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with at least 1,100 left for production meetings and the next week. A single read on its own fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Notes nobody has to type
Production meetings come back with a brief, chapters per department and the dates and numbers that were agreed. Cast and crew are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters when names are used in the room, so the notes can go out the same evening.
The usual rehearsal paperwork
An assistant typing notes during a read misses half of what was said.
✗ Notes by hand
Someone types while the read goes on, and the notes trail the room.
- Line changes remembered, not recorded
- Director's notes paraphrased
- Production meeting decisions scattered
- Hours of audio nobody replays
- Cuts tracked in a margin
- No way to search what was said
✓ Notes from the recording
The read and the meeting come back as text you can compare and search.
- About 6 minutes for a 3-hour read
- Every line timestamped
- Changes visible against the script
- Departments as chapters
- 20 free minutes to judge the read
- DOCX for the production folder

FAQ
Rehearsal room recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 3-hour table read take to transcribe?
Around 6 minutes, since each hour of audio takes about 2. A short production meeting is back in a minute or two.
How much does a week of rehearsals cost?
Five 3-hour days come to 900 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers with at least 1,100 spare. Credits never expire, so the rest carries into tech week. A first visit includes the first 20 minutes free.
We rehearse a musical. What happens to the songs?
Music is not transcribed; the speech is. Spoken scenes, notes and discussion come through, while sung numbers and piano play are treated as music and should not be relied on as text.
Can I upload the whole day as one file?
Yes, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB are accepted. A day of phone audio is far smaller than that, so splitting is only for your own convenience.
Does it handle accents and more than one language?
99 languages are detected automatically, and each file is detected on its main language. A cast working in English with a few lines in another language is transcribed on English.
Which formats come back, and who can hear our script?
Choose TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so an unpublished script stays yours. Delete the recording and its text whenever you want.
