What it is
Twilio offers ConversationRelay and Voice Intelligence as the building blocks for AI voice agents on top of its carrier network. Developers stream call audio to their own LLM via WebSocket and receive TTS audio back, while Twilio handles SIP/PSTN, recording, and basic ASR. It is the default choice for teams already deep in Twilio.
Watch out for: Twilio carrier costs apply on top of model costs; relay still maturing.
