Transcribe a full-day workshop morning to wrap-up, one file.
You recorded the whole workshop day, six to eight hours of teaching, exercises and discussion, and you want it as one transcript. Upload the file as it is: 8 hours comes back in about 16 minutes, the chapters follow the exercises, and 480 minutes fits one $6 pack (500 minutes).
Why the whole day
The best part of a workshop is often the discussion after an exercise.
One recorder, left running
Start recording at nine and stop at five. One file can run up to 10 hours, so the whole day goes up as recorded, breaks included. The box here takes ordinary sizes; a multi-gigabyte video continues on the upload page.
Chapters by exercise
The day comes back divided into chapters that follow its structure: the introduction, each exercise, the debriefs and the closing round. Jump straight to the afternoon session without scrolling past the morning.
Notes for people who were not there
The brief gives the main ideas and takeaways of the day, and the questions participants asked. It becomes a handout, a follow-up email, or the outline for running the workshop again.
A day for the price of one pack
Eight hours is 480 minutes, which fits the $6 pack (500 minutes). The minutes never expire, so a shorter workshop leaves credit for the next one.
The usual way
A full day is too long for most transcription tools.
✗ Cut into pieces
The recording is long, so it gets chopped into morning and afternoon, or into hour-long parts.
- Recording apps that stop at an hour
- An upload limit far below a day of video
- Seven parts to send and stitch back together
- A clock that restarts at zero in each part
- Exercise debriefs lost in the gaps
- Per-minute pricing that makes a day expensive
✓ The day in one piece
One upload, one transcript, one clock from the first word to the last.
- A full day per file, 10 hours or 5 GB at most
- Chapters that mark each exercise and break
- An 8-hour day read back in about 16 minutes
- Questions participants raised, listed
- One $6 pack covers 8 hours
- DOCX handouts and SRT captions
Sample output
Nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, one timeline.
Illustrative output, not a real workshop. The clock runs from when the recorder started, so the closing round sits hours after the introduction in the same document.

FAQ
Full-day workshops, answered.
How long does an 8-hour workshop take to transcribe?
About 16 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio; a 6-hour day takes about twelve. Our public long-file run did 9.31 hours in 1,033 seconds, and the figures are at /proof/long-files.
What does a full day cost?
The first 20 minutes are free as a preview. An 8-hour day is 480 minutes and fits one $6 pack (500 minutes). If you run a workshop every month, one $12 pack (2,000 minutes) covers four full days.
The day's video is about 4 GB. Can I upload it?
Yes, because the ceiling is 5 GB and 10 hours per file. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, so a 4 GB file starts once a pack is on the account. Saving the audio track alone as MP3 makes the file far smaller.
Do I need to split morning and afternoon?
No. Keep the day as one recording, and chapters separate the sessions for you. Only a recording over 10 hours needs to become two files.
Participants came from several countries. Which language will it use?
Language detection picks from 99 without being asked. A workshop run in one language, with a few comments in another, is transcribed in the main language of the day.
Which formats does the workshop export to, and does it stay private?
The workshop text exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, in any combination. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so client workshops and internal sessions stay inside your account.
