Transcribe an Instagram Live replay as one document.
An Instagram Live with a guest can run for an hour or two, and the replay is all you have. Download it from Instagram, upload the file below, and get one transcript back at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. Instagram links are not fetched; the file can be up to 5 GB, and the first 20 minutes are free.
Instagram Live, written down
Your Live with a guest, turned into something you can post.
Download it from your account
Instagram blocks outside services from reading a Live through its link. Download the replay from your own account or archive, then upload that video file here.
Guests are named where it counts
When two people share a Live, the summary, key quotes and chapters identify and name the speakers, so a pull quote carries the right person. The transcript lines carry timestamps you can check against the video.
Preview first, in most cases
A replay under 2 GB previews the first 20 minutes free on a first visit, and a pack transcribes the rest from that point. Files above 2 GB, and stream recordings longer than 6 hours, start once a pack is on the account.
Posts from one Live
The brief gives the thesis and takeaways, which is a carousel outline. The quotes come with timestamps for Reels you cut later. The DOCX goes to a newsletter. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page.
After the Live
The conversation was good, and nobody wrote it down.
✗ Without a transcript
The replay is the only copy, and it only plays at one speed.
- Quotes remembered, not checked
- Guest names misspelled in captions
- Scrubbing a vertical video to find a line
- Tools that stop at 30 minutes
- A recap post that takes an evening
- Nothing to send the guest afterwards
✓ With a transcript
One upload gives the whole conversation in text, with the guest named where it matters.
- Every sentence of the Live
- Speakers named in the summary and quotes
- Timestamps for each Reel you cut
- A brief that outlines the carousel
- DOCX to send the guest
- Captions for the reposted replay
Sample output
A ninety-minute Live with a guest, as text.
Illustrative output, not a real Live. Lines follow the replay's own clock, so each quote can be traced back to the second it was said.

FAQ
Instagram Live replays, answered.
How long does a 90-minute Live take?
About 3 minutes once uploaded, because audio is processed at about 2 minutes per hour. A two-hour Live with a guest is usually done in about 4.
How much is a long Instagram Live?
A 90-minute Live is 90 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free on your first visit, and the $6 pack covers the other 70 with 430 minutes in reserve. Credits stay on the account. Most Lives are short enough that one pack lasts for many of them.
When does a replay need a pack before it starts?
When the file is over 2 GB, or when it is a stream recording over 6 hours. Most Instagram Lives are well under both and preview first. If you do hit one of them, the pack is bought before the job begins rather than after a preview.
Is there a length limit?
Ten hours or 5 GB per file, whichever is reached first. A Live that somehow ran longer would go in as two files.
Can I paste the Instagram link?
No, the link cannot be fetched, so download and upload instead. Any of 99 spoken languages is detected automatically. Lives where the host and guest switch between two languages are handled too.
Which files do I get back, and who can see the replay?
The transcript downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Send the DOCX to your guest so they can check their quotes before you post them. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
