Transcribe a long Teams meeting from the MP4.
A long Microsoft Teams meeting ends up as an MP4 in OneDrive or SharePoint, and that file is what you bring here. Download it, drop it in the box, and a two-hour meeting comes back in about four minutes; one file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. You get the opening 20 minutes free, and a $6 pack picks up from where that preview ends.
From OneDrive to text
Get the recording out of Teams, then you are nearly done.
Where the recording sits
For a scheduled or ad hoc meeting the recording goes to the OneDrive of the person who started it, and for a channel meeting it goes to the team's SharePoint site. Open it from the meeting chat or the Files tab and use Download to save the MP4.
Why a link will not do here
A OneDrive or SharePoint link sits behind your organisation's sign-in, so nothing outside the tenant can fetch it. Download the MP4 and upload the file instead. A long meeting file over 500 MB continues on the upload page, up to 5 GB.
Two hours, about four minutes
Processing averages roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A two-hour project review is usually ready in about four minutes, and a full-day planning session of seven hours in about a quarter of an hour.
More than a wall of text
You get a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that came up, and the questions the meeting answered. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so the action items keep their owners.
The long meeting problem
What a two-hour Teams recording usually turns into.
✗ Left in OneDrive
The recording exists, but nobody opens a two-hour video to check what was agreed. It sits there until someone needs it and cannot find the minute.
- A two-hour MP4 nobody rewatches
- Transcription that depends on admin settings
- Notes that missed the second hour
- Action items with no owner attached
- Guests outside the tenant who cannot open it
- A file that may be cleaned up by retention rules
✓ Brought here once
The downloaded MP4 becomes a transcript and a brief you can file wherever your team keeps notes.
- One upload of the downloaded MP4
- A brief written for the people who missed it
- Chapters you can link by timestamp
- Owners kept with the actions in the summary
- A DOCX you can share outside the tenant
- Text that stays once the video is deleted

FAQ
Long Teams recordings, answered.
How do I get my Teams recording out to transcribe it?
Open the recording from the meeting chat, or find it in OneDrive under Recordings, or in the channel's SharePoint files for a channel meeting. Use Download to save the MP4, then upload that file here.
Can I paste the OneDrive or SharePoint link instead?
No. Those links need your organisation's sign-in, so they cannot be fetched from outside. Download the file and upload it. Google Drive share links do work, if your team keeps recordings there.
How long will a 2-hour Teams meeting take?
Expect around four minutes for two hours of meeting, since processing averages about 2 minutes per hour of audio. A four-hour workshop takes around eight, and you can close the tab while it runs.
What does a long Teams meeting cost?
A two-hour meeting is 120 minutes, so the $6 pack (500 minutes) covers it and leaves enough for a few more. A team transcribing every weekly two-hour review for a quarter, about 1,560 minutes, would buy the $12 pack (2,000 minutes). Credits never expire and there is no subscription to cancel.
Is there a size or length limit?
One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever you reach first. Until a pack is on the account, uploads go up to 2 GB, and a larger file starts once a pack is there.
What do I get back, and is it private?
A transcript with timestamps, a brief, chapters and a chat over the meeting, with exports in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. The meeting's language is picked up automatically from 99 supported languages, so a Teams call held in French or Japanese needs no setting. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
