Transcribe a 2-hour Google Meet recording straight from Drive.
Google Meet saves its recordings to Google Drive, so for a two-hour meeting you do not need to download anything. Share the recording, paste the Drive link in the box, and the transcript is usually ready in about four minutes. A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; buying a pack from $6 finishes the remaining hour and forty minutes.
Meet recordings
The recording is already in Drive. Point us at it.
Paste the link, skip the download
Meet puts the recording in the organiser's Drive, usually in a folder called Meet Recordings. Set the file's sharing to anyone with the link, copy the link, and paste it here. Nothing passes through your own connection, which matters when the file is a gigabyte.
When link sharing is locked
Some workspaces do not allow sharing outside the organisation. In that case download the MP4 from Drive and upload the file. One file can run to 5 GB, and a large file continues on the upload page.
A two-hour Meet in four minutes
Transcription averages about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a two-hour weekly review is usually ready in four. Several recordings in the same folder can go one after another, each with its own transcript.
Ask the meeting a question
Every recording comes back with chapters, the names and figures that were mentioned, the questions the meeting answered, and a chat over the transcript. Ask which deadline was agreed and the answer comes back with the timestamp to check it against.
The Drive habit
Recordings pile up in Drive faster than anyone reads them.
✗ A folder of untouched videos
Every recorded Meet adds another video to Drive. Two hours each, none of them searchable by what was said.
- A Meet Recordings folder nobody opens
- Two-hour videos with no way to search the speech
- Downloading a gigabyte just to read it
- Meet transcripts tied to some Workspace editions
- Captions that vanished when the call ended
- Minutes reconstructed from memory the next day
✓ A link pasted once
The share link becomes a transcript, a brief and chapters, without the file ever touching your laptop.
- Paste the share link and wait about 4 minutes
- Text you can search for any phrase
- A brief sized for the people who were absent
- The whole two hours, not only the first
- Language detected on its own
- Copies in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON

FAQ
Google Meet recordings, answered.
Where does Google Meet save my recording?
In the meeting organiser's Google Drive, normally in the Meet Recordings folder, and a link is also sent to the organiser by email. Open it in Drive to share it or download it.
Can I paste the Drive link instead of uploading?
Yes. Set the recording's sharing to anyone with the link and paste the link here. If your organisation blocks outside sharing, download the MP4 and upload the file instead.
How long does a 2-hour Meet recording take?
Plan on roughly four minutes. Transcription runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, and a pasted link starts as soon as the audio has been fetched, so there is no upload bar to sit through on your side either.
What does it cost to transcribe a 2-hour meeting?
Two hours is 120 minutes, inside the $6 pack (500 minutes). If you record a two-hour meeting every week, a year of them is 6,240 minutes, which is more than the $24 pack (5,000 minutes), so you would buy that pack and top up later. Credits never expire.
Is there a length limit for Meet recordings?
Each Meet recording can run as long as 10 hours, with 5 GB as the size ceiling, whichever it reaches first. Meetings rarely come near that, and anything longer goes in as two files.
Which languages and exports are supported?
Ninety-nine languages are recognised without you choosing one, which helps when a call drifts between English and another language. The transcript downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
