Drive link · folders · 10 hours per video

Transcribe a video from Google Drive without downloading it.

Your long video is already in Google Drive, and downloading it just to upload it again wastes an hour. Paste the Drive share link below instead: the video is read from Drive, it can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and the first 20 minutes are free. A whole folder link sends every recording in it.

Packs from $6, credits never expire · then from $0.36/hour · Credits never expire · Never used to train AI

Straight from Drive

The video stays in Drive. The text comes to you.

Share, then paste

Set the file to “Anyone with the link can view”, copy the link and paste it. The video is fetched directly from Drive, so a 3 GB recording costs you no upload time.

A folder in one paste

Paste a folder link and every audio and video file in it is picked up, each as its own transcript. A term of lectures or a season of recorded sessions goes in at once.

The limits per video

Each video can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Drive files over 2 GB, and stream recordings over 6 hours, start once a pack is on the account; smaller ones preview the first 20 minutes free on a first visit.

Back as more than text

Every video comes with a brief, chapters with timestamps, the names and figures that were said, and a chat for questions. Recordings in Drive are often meetings or lectures, and those are what the brief is built for.

The download detour

The file is already in the cloud. Why move it twice?

✗ Download and re-upload

Most tools need the file on your computer, then need it uploaded again.

  • A 3 GB download to your laptop
  • A 3 GB upload straight after
  • Shared drives that sync slowly
  • One file at a time from a full folder
  • Upload caps below the video's size
  • A laptop that has to stay awake

✓ Paste the Drive link

Drive hands the video over directly, and your connection is not involved.

  • No download, no re-upload
  • Folder links pick up every file
  • Videos up to 10 hours each
  • One transcript per recording
  • Chapters and a brief for each
  • Close the laptop while it runs

Sample output

A two-hour recorded session from a Drive folder.

Illustrative output, not a real recording. Each video in a folder returns its own transcript, timed from the start of that file.

00:02:14 This is session four, and the slides are in the same Drive folder as this recording.
00:48:39 Write this one down: the budget review moves to the first week of the quarter from now on.
01:16:02 Could you repeat the second figure? I think it was 14 percent, not 40.
01:57:25 It was 14. Recording stops here; the next session is in the same folder next week.

FAQ

Google Drive videos, answered.

How long does a long Drive video take?

About 2 minutes per hour of audio after Drive hands it over, so a 2-hour video is ready in about 4 minutes and a 5-hour one in about 10. A whole folder runs file by file, and each transcript appears as it finishes.

What does a folder of long videos cost?

A single 2-hour video is 120 minutes on the $6 pack. A folder of twelve 3-hour lectures is 2,160 minutes, more than the $12 pack holds, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes is the right one, and it includes API access.

Is there a pack-first rule for long Drive files?

Files over 2 GB start once a pack is on the account, and so do stream recordings over 6 hours saved into Drive. Other files preview the first 20 minutes free on a first visit.

What is the largest Drive video I can send?

Ten hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. Anything bigger goes in as two files. A shared drive works the same way as My Drive, as long as the link is viewable.

Do I have to pick a language?

No. The language is detected automatically, across 99 languages, for each file in a folder separately. A folder can mix languages and each video is handled on its own.

What exports do I get, and does sharing the link expose the video?

Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. The link only needs to be viewable while it is fetched, and you can switch sharing off afterwards. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
