How it works

Download from Teams, upload here, read the action items.

Works on any Teams recording you can download — no admin transcription license required, no audio sent to big-AI providers.

1

Record & download

Record the meeting in Teams. The MP4 lands in OneDrive (1:1 and group calls) or the team's SharePoint site (channel meetings). Open it and choose Download.

2

Drop the file here

Upload the MP4. Transferred over TLS 1.3, encrypted at rest with AES-256. We run open-source Whisper on private infrastructure — nothing leaves to OpenAI, Google, or any third party.

3

Read, extract, delete

Speaker-labelled transcript appears with timestamps. One click for action items, one click for a follow-up email draft. Delete the file when you're done — or auto-delete in 7 days.

What you can do with the transcript

Past the transcript — the post-meeting work, done.

Every Teams transcript opens with an AI sidebar built for meetings.

Action-item extraction

Who agreed to do what, by when. The AI pulls every commitment from the transcript with timestamps and owner labels.

Follow-up email draft

One click drafts a summary email — decisions made, action items, open questions. Paste into Outlook and send.

Search the meeting

Click any line to jump to that second of the recording. Search a name, a number, a phrase — every match comes back with a timestamp.

Export DOCX / SRT / TXT

DOCX for your meeting log, SRT for archived video, TXT for a quick paste. All formats included at the base price.

FAQ

Teams meeting transcription, answered.

How do I transcribe a Teams meeting for free?

Download the recording MP4 from OneDrive or SharePoint and upload it above. Speaker-labelled transcript with action items returns in about a minute per 30 minutes of audio. Preview with no signup; a free account (60 minutes included) unlocks the full text.

Where does Teams save the recording?

OneDrive for Business (1:1 and group meetings) or the team's SharePoint site (channel meetings). Open the recording and choose Download to get the MP4.

Is my meeting audio sent to OpenAI or Google?

No. We run open-source Whisper on private infrastructure. Audio is never sent to OpenAI, Google, or any third-party transcription service, and we never train models on your audio.

How is this different from Teams' built-in transcription?

Teams' live transcription depends on your tenant's licensing and admin settings and runs in Microsoft's cloud. Whipscribe works on any recording you download — no per-seat license — with action-item extraction and a follow-up email draft, and keeps audio out of big-AI pipelines.

Does it label speakers?

Yes. Automatic diarisation labels every voice as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. You can rename them after the transcript loads.

How is the file protected?

Uploads transfer over TLS 1.3 and are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Delete any file from your dashboard at any time, or set auto-delete in account settings.

What file formats work?

Teams recordings download as MP4, which works directly. We also accept M4A, WAV, FLAC, MP3, MOV, and MKV.
