Answer

How do I send a transcript to ChatGPT or Claude to summarize it?

On the WhipScribe transcript page, open the Share menu and choose Open in ChatGPT or Open in Claude; the transcript opens there ready for your question. Or export the transcript as TXT or DOCX and attach the file to your chat. WhipScribe also writes its own free summary of every recording, so you may not need either.

Straight from the transcript page

The Share menu on a transcript has three choices: Open in ChatGPT, Open in Claude, and Copy link. Pick the assistant and ask it to summarize, pull out action items, or draft an email.

This avoids pasting a long transcript by hand, which assistants often cut off.

Or attach a file

Export as TXT or DOCX and upload the file to any assistant. JSON, SRT and VTT are there too if you need timestamps.

You may already have the summary

Every recording gets a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and a chat over the transcript. The summary is free to read; a pack from $4 (500 minutes) opens the full transcript.

How to do it

  1. Transcribe the recording in WhipScribe.
  2. Open the transcript page.
  3. Open Share, then choose Open in ChatGPT or Open in Claude.
  4. Ask for the summary you want, or export TXT or DOCX and attach it instead.
