Commencement exercises · 3 to 4 hours per ceremony

Transcribe a graduation ceremony and keep the speeches, not the four hours.

A 4-hour graduation ceremony comes back as text in about 8 minutes, with the commencement address, the valedictory speech and every other address in its own timestamped chapter. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers two complete 4-hour ceremonies.

Packs from $6, credits never expire · then from $0.36/hour · Credits never expire · Never used to train AI
✓A 4-hour ceremony in one file · ✓Speeches in their own chapters · ✓Filipino and English together · ✓Ceremony video never trains a model

For schools, alumni offices and families

Most of a commencement is procession and names. The part people quote later is maybe forty minutes of speeches.

Every address, findable by its chapter

The invocation, the welcome remarks, the guest speaker, the valedictorian and the closing remarks each start a new chapter with a title and a time, so the speech you came for is one click away.

A brief of what the speakers asked of the graduates

The brief opens with the thesis of the day and the takeaways the speakers kept returning to. Speakers are named in the summary, quotes and chapters when the emcee introduces them.

The reading of names in one place

The long conferment of degrees still comes back as text, grouped in its own chapter. Graduates' names are spelled by ear, so check them against the printed programme before anything is published.

From the school's livestream

If the school streamed the rites on YouTube, paste the link. A Facebook stream is downloaded first and then sent through the upload page.

What the ceremony video cannot do

Nobody rewatches four hours to copy down one paragraph of the valedictory address.

✗ Relying on the ceremony video

The ceremony video is long, loud in places and posted once. The speeches sit somewhere between the processional and the recessional, with no index.

  • Speeches buried between hours of names
  • Applause and the band cover the opening lines
  • A camera file far too large to send around
  • Filipino passages that English tools skip
  • No text for the school paper to quote
  • Hand-typing a speech from a phone replay

✓ The same ceremony here

One upload returns the spoken parts as text, already split along the programme.

  • Chapters that follow the printed programme
  • Every address as text you can quote
  • Quotes from the speeches with timestamps
  • Filipino and English passages read in one run
  • Caption files ready for the posted replay
  • Two 4-hour ceremonies on the $6 pack

Sample output

An address that moves between English and Filipino.

FAQ

Graduation ceremony recordings, answered.

How long does a full commencement take to process?

Roughly 2 minutes for each hour of audio, so a 3-hour ceremony is ready in about 6 minutes and a 4-hour one in about 8. On the public proof page, a 4.94-hour recording finished in 372 seconds, close to the length of a long commencement.

What does one ceremony cost, and what about a whole graduation week?

A 4-hour ceremony is 240 minutes. After the first 20 minutes free, the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers it and still has room for a second ceremony of the same length. A university holding six college ceremonies of 3 hours each needs 1,080 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Both packs are charged in US dollars.

Our ceremony video runs to many gigabytes. Do we have to cut it?

Not by length: one file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. Size is the catch for camera video. At 10 Mbps a video grows by 10 × 3,600 = 36,000 megabits, about 4.5 GB, every hour, so a 4-hour file is near 18 GB. Export the sound as a 128 kbps MP3 instead (about 58 MB per hour, roughly 230 MB for four hours). Until a pack is on the account, a single upload can be up to 2 GB.

Will it follow speeches in Filipino and in regional languages?

Filipino and Tagalog are detected automatically, and the English parts of the rites come back cleanly, including switches between the two inside one speech. A Cebuano, Ilocano or Hiligaynon address is supported as well, but it comes out as a fast first draft, so plan one review pass on it before printing. The national anthem, hymns and the band are music, so they are not transcribed.

Can we caption the replay with it?

Yes. Download the SRT or VTT file and add it to the uploaded replay, so viewers who watch without sound can follow the speeches.

What formats does the school receive, and who can see the video?

You can download the ceremony as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, with timestamps throughout. A ceremony recording often shows minors and families, which is why it matters that recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training; delete the file and its text whenever the school decides.
